My, my, wasn't she ferocious, total commitment, passion, skills and communication through the performance....be interesting to see how she/her coach manages to develop this act.
These acts where you're led to think one way, and then they start the act and you suddenly thinking "wtf?".
That's exactly what I thought whilst watching Jesse and all the better for it.
Don't really care what the young girl does next (she is bound to be a semi finalist) but I think she's brilliant. Plus, it's a genuine "variety" act so all the better.
Also loved how she finished her act with that look of aggression and then when everyone was cheering afterwards she had the biggest smile on her face.

Can you imagine how good she'll be when she reaches her twenties if she keeps up her training? I really hope she has the desire to keep this up. She's already great at this. Very impressed with her skill for her age and size.

I don't think she needs it. Not only was she very good, but she'll be the only martial arts kid in the show so won't be axed in favour of another one.
Oh she was so good. Lovely to see such a young lady master such skill. A young Jedi. Best in the show so far.
You'd have thought that as how a singer (yawn) and a dancing troupe (yawns again) get golden buzzered, then this girl would easily get the golden buzzer. For me this girl had much more of a 'Wow' factor.
This is proper talent, she was incredible
It's just a shame that she has to earn her spot in the semi and final, instead of a mediocre dance group and dull singer

See, I thought the 'ferocious' faces were extremely cringeworthy. I do agree that she showed commitment and ability, but did I enjoy it? Really, really, no. I found it kind of creepy and horrible. She is pretty much guaranteed a place in the final, though, because she is a 'variety' act.
Must be just be then who found it quite disturbing letting a 9 year old play with a sword. What are we going to allow next Barbie guns for little girls like America have.
I hated it. Don't get me wrong, she is very good at what she does and obviously puts a lot of training in. The screaming and the faces put me right off though. I appreciate its part if her act and what some people might think makes her 'cute'. Its completely unnecessary though and makes her obvious talent look a bit pantomime.
This girl is exceptional and extremely talented but she's already well known outside of BGT.
She's the current double WAKO Junior World Champion, the youngest female World Champion in the karate and kickboxing league and 9-time World Martial Arts Games European champion. She's won a total of 117 titles.
She's also just finished filming her first film in America called Martial Arts Kids and in the summer will be filming again in a new film set in Ireland called Awakening starring Zac Efron. Still only 9 years old, wow.
I suspect she was approached by producers to take part in BGT.

Not to mention the final will be stuffed full of singers and dancing acts anyway. It's not as if they need to try hard to get singers and dancing acts into the final.
In my opinion the golden buzzer should be used in special occasions given to acts who'd need a bit of a leg up because the audience may not be that familiar with the type of act.
A poster above gave a perfect example of acts who don't get unanimous yeses and the judges are in disagreement.
That's when the special buzzer comes into play. NOT when all the judges are in unanimous support. What's the point if all the judges adore an act and are all stood up giving them a standing ovation? They're through anyway.

Not really, usually half of the acts in the final are singers, along with a few dance acts.
I thought she was great personally. As a few others have said it's a shame she missed out on the golden buzzer and a generic singer and dance group got them instead.
I thought she was very good. Was expecting something different at the start. The screaming/shouting is to give you more power when you land the blow.

.... and the shouty stuff, which yes I know .... is all part of what she does but! I agree with you. Didn't like to say. After also going against the grain with Becky I'm a bit scared of getting lynched

I agree with this. She was a nice little kid but the act itself didn't interest me.
