I don't mean the fake one from 2013 but the real one from pre 2008. It's the only thing that will bring some interest to this story with Callum.

The Callum story was interesting at first but feels like it's going in cycles now.ma cycle of:

1. Callum coming in
2. David complaining to him that he should have called
3. Max pleading for him to stay
4. David lets him stay
5. David gets annoyed and kicks Callum out
6. Callum warns him that he's going to court.
7. Step 1

We need David to royally screw over Callum now. Something that will put people on Callum's side as David goes too far.

Agreed, evil David was much more fun than boring family man David

I like the mature David, and no one does 'evil face' like he does!
But yes, it has annoyed me that Callum is calling the shots over Max, how can he stand a chance of getting Max when he has ignored him for 5/6 years?
The old David would have wiped the floor with Callum, so don't know what the writers are thinking of - they seem to be dumbing down all the story lines.

David's vulnerability touches my heart.

He has shown a range of emotions and genuinely cares for his stepson Max and baby daughter.

Callum is a threat and up to something .. the intimacy with David's sister Sarah is a game and she knows it but is too naive or pretending to be.

After years in Italy her arrival with Bethany to the Platt household is already causing havoc.

I agree the Callum storyline needs more punch to it, but this often happens when storylines are stretched out because of maternity leave.

I didn't really enjoy the "evil" David era. They made the mistake of keeping it going after the business with Bethany taking ecstasy and David faking a suicide attempt to wreck Sarah's wedding - it just got sillier and sillier until we had David burgling Audrey's house and everyone forgetting about it a few weeks later.

David has improved greatly as a character since Kylie came along - he's grown up, but Jack P. Shepherd always keeps David's nasty side simmering beneath the surface. Against my own expectations, I enjoyed him returning to his old ways in 2013, because it felt justified and I was glad to see the writers remember that he's capable of some really nasty things. They couldn't really go further without splitting up David and Kylie for good which would be a huge loss.

That being said, I'm expecting David to snap and do *something* to screw Callum over around the time Kylie comes back, so about 5/6 weeks time, only to make matters worse.

I'd definitely be rooting for David if he turns Mr Nasty against Callum. He's shown amazing restraint so far (for him anyway), I guess for the sake of the kids.

I know David can't 'see Callum off' as such with the actor sticking around but I'd sure like him to knock him down a peg or two.

Come on Davey Boy, get your bag of dry roasted out!

Yep I can see evil and conniving david making a comeback since learning of gandy's true identity he will give gavin a right royal send off then he'll have the taste and confidence to see off his nemesis, callum....please let the writers create a fantastic storyline for these showdowns.

I find him so boring just letting people walk over him (like Sarah and Bethany) although his lines are funny.

The writers give him some great one liners.....he has been a little bit lost these last few months but hopefully he will have a new lease of life and a juicy SL (fingers crossed!).

He was funny when he was cracking those jokes in front of Gail and Gandy, in Nick's restaurant.
