I'm actually picturing that in my mind - it's just so not Zainab

If Zainab came back, she would do exactly what Shirley is doing. It's more Zainab's style. Shirley walked out of her children and she doesn't seem to get on well with her grandchildren. I know I'm biased but I wish they tone down her a bit.

I would love to see Zainab and Shirley having a big argument - they would be epic together ”

But how can you judge that the story is going to revolved around Shirley? She isn't the only one looking for Roya - Masood and Jane are too. I don't see how you can deduce that from.a couple of pictures. It is the Masood's big storyline of which has some Shirley involvement.

Shirley is high up on the ep count but many eps she has only appeared in one or two scenes and she was quiet throughout most of Feb/March.

Shirley did walk out but we have seen time and again that she has regretted in and wanted to make amends - maybe this the beginning of Shirley's new era? Maybe Roya will open her eyes to Dean? We don't know what will happen yet.

Zainab and Shirley weren't enemies but they did clash and it would be comedy gold to see them onscreen together as grandparents. Zee's reaction to being related to Shirley and the Carters through Roya would be fantastic viewing!!

That would be comedy gold.

Not forgetting that her paternal grandfather is a career criminal who has been in and out the nick most of his life! I can just picture Zainab's face now - I hope she comes back!,

Nina would bring it. She's great in the Goodness Gracious Me singing sketches.

Shirley's unlikable. Shabnam's unlikable. Dean's unlikable. We've never met Roya. Why should we care?

Well I for one am going to watch the story without writing it off immediately because there is Carter involvement. I think it could be quite an interesting story and connection between the two families.

'Pisshead scarecrow' is completely unnecessary and rude.

Though it sounds like a terrible storyline to me, if they are going to persist with it I hope it only involves Dean and Shirley and Shabnam and Masood and not the other annoying Carters.

I think it will focus on Shabbam first and foremost, Dean, Shirley and Masood. Tamwar and Buster may be involved within those families too but I don't think anyone else, other than outside friends like Jane, Denise, Kush and Stacey...

Not sure why this is being seen as a Carter-heavy storyline. The Masoods will have just as much of a stake in it, since the girl is Shabnam's daughter and Mas' granddaughter. I Mick, Linda, Lee and Nancy will have anything to do with the search.

Someone ought to tell Zainab if Shirley, Masood, Shabnam and Tamwar leave her out in the cold. I wonder if it'll be Denise, as they are friends.

She would be so incredible storming into the Masood household (assuming she still has a key to it) or banging on the Vic doors demanding answers. Being connected to Shirley Carter would give her the chance to show off her great drama and comedy skills. While she never feuded with Shirl, she'd still have a lot to say about her drinking, smoking and all round lewdness. Zainab would go hysterical if she knew what Buster was like

BIB: Thank you! This is the point I have been trying to get across all flaming day!

And I agree with the rest. Zainab's reaction to being related to Shirley and vice versa will be absolute gold. They got along but they did clash! Also If Buster is still on the scene, it will be brilliant to see Zainab's reaction to having a career criminal, who has been in and out of the nick all his life as Roya's paternal grandfather.

I think Denise will be involved on Dean's behalf also.

Now that's a thought. This s/l does have the potential to involve quite few characters.

I agree, Shabnam, Masood, Tamwar, Kush, Stacey, Dean, Shirley, Buster (if he is still there, hopefully), Denise, Zainab (if she returns) could all be involved. A lot of potential.

bib: He will probably be oh so conveniently killed off, in order for either Shabnam (or rapist scumbag Dean, or Shirley) to gain custody of the child.

Your optimistic posts are a breath of fresh air.

Sometimes all I can hear on this forum is Chopin's Funeral March.

I appreciate that! I just don't see the point in all this negativity! I've just been seeing things a bit more clearly and don't see why we can't we just enjoy the show for what it is, rather than over-analysing it?

I don't think that it will affect, Tamwar and Nancy's relationship, too much. They might have different opinions on what Shabnam did, but I don't think, it will cause any lasting damage to their relationship. At least, I hope not.

Nancy could be involved, too, because of her relationship with Tamwar.
