Which tablets have HDMI output?
Quick question. Which tablets on the market today have a mini HDMI output?
I know the Hudl has but it is proving frustratingly difficult to find a list of other ones that have this. |

Obviously I don't know what you want to use the hdmi output for, but if you have wifi at home I would buy a Chromecast.
Every video that I can watch on my Tablet I can send to the hdmi input on the tv with the Chromecast. |

Hi, personally I would prefer a cable connection because it is simpler and more reliable.
Also I would like to watch downloaded stuff from Iplayer on the tv in dad's caravan without needing wifi. |

A miracast dongle will do what you want. Tablet sets up a direct adhoc WiFi connection - no router or internet needed.

Also works on PCs with windows 8.1 (not if an upgrade from 8.1 though). http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00IIEHWAQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1429478287&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&keywords=miracast+dongle&dpPl=1&dpID=41W3d4X-2OL&ref=plSrch |

Indeed.
That is exactly why it has so few standards. It is quite hard to see add-ons if normal things like HDMI just work. |

I;ve decided to go with a basic Hudl 1. Not sure why so many of the more expensive tablets don;t support HDMI, but there you go.

Its the Hudl 2 that is 1080p.
I'm not too sure what max resolution the video etc is on a Hudl 1 and its 1080p HDMI connection. |

I would buy HUDL2 plus a miracast dongle in prefernce to HUDL1. Why not reconsider buying the LINX8 (I never use my android tablet now). This is a full windows 8.1 implementation for <£100, and comes with 1 years MSOffice 265 subscription + 1 TB cloud storage worth £59.99 free of charge. This is not cut down version of windows i,.e. you can download you familiar PC apps from wherever rather then the RT version which only had limited app from Microspft Store. |

You need to make sure that your tv has good overscan and underscan settings if you buy a Linx tablet with Intel HD graphics because Intel have completely messed up the drivers and control panel.
If you've got an old TV or cheap TV without sufficient scanning options built into it you'll never get the picture to display properly with a tablet with certain intel HD chipsets, and this can apply to HDMI AND wireless display. |

I think you might regret this. HUDL1 is a bit long in the tooth.
. And I know it will work with the cables I have right now (already tried with my friends Hudl). There are things I would change about it, but it is so cheap now I could buy a Hudl just for this and another brand new tablet as well without having to worry if it has HDMI. But I'll take a look at the Lynx as well ![]() Dongles are great, but for me it just seems to be overcomplicating a basic task....all I want to do is download a few hours of telly and sling my Hudl and cable in a bag and away you go. |

A FAR better solution for an IPad/IPhone is an Apple TV box for about £65 (on offers)) This does a whole lot more but can also connect to iDevices over WiFi using AIrPlay.
