Miracast screen sharing does not use wifi ( I think). So long as your tablet has the miracast ability, this will avoid the need for cables.”

It does use WiFi by creating an ad-hoc network I.e. a simple link between WiFi from PC to dongle. It does not use any routers or home network etc.
