If a Dingle has to die, let it be Sam. Kill off a Barton (Pete or James) and a Sharma (Georgia thanks) and we'll be good. Then just have a handful that are seriously injured.

I agree about killing Sam off but I like Pete, James and Georgia. The only others I'd like to be killed off are Ali, Laurel and Ross. Of the others, some I think are great and some I think are so so and am happy for them to stay.

I have an awful feeling Moira, Cain or Chas will be killed off.

With two of their 'big guns' (Nicola Wheeler and Emma Atkins) being on maternity leave I'll be surprised if it's any of those three. I hope it's not anyway!

Dunblane is a town not a 2 street hamlet.
Yes, but it's a small town not a sprawling metropolis, and it was the last place on earth that you would have expected anything like that. The point is these things can happen anywhere and even if they didn't Kate Oates is hardly the first ED producer to require a suspension of disbelief. In reality what are the chances of a plane crashing and wiping out half of a village or small town? Lockerbie was as rare an event as the Raoul Moat or Thomas Hamilton shootings but ED didn't let that stop them.

Thanks for the info.

Apart from if the actors want to leave, I'd think that the characters that are safe are:

Chas
Aaron
Robert
Val
Eric
Chrissie
Lachlan
Alicia
David
Rhona
Paddy
Laurel
Ashley
Bob
Carly
Ross
Debbie
Priya
Cain
Moira
Adam
Victoria
Andy

I'd like to think that Pete and Finn are safe too.

All those Spencer's, Toxic Tracy, Ruby, Jai, Wretchel, Sam, Georgia, Rakesh, Kirin, Vanessa, Prya and Carly need shipping out, their either awful, boring or both. It's also high time vile Val swapped that manky old fur coat for a wooden overcoat, and Ross needs to pay for his criminal ways so maybe his mum could have a more successful try with the pillows. Debbie could possibly follow him after this week. Aaron needs a grisly gruesome death, don't care how where or why, he just does.

If there is a 'mass cull' I don't think it's necessary at all. Emmerdale is doing well at the moment, in my opinion.

I think a storyline where a gunman goes through the village killing some of the cast could be really good. It could be a week long story with episodes on at 9pm each night. It could do really well ratings wise but maybe it would be too controversial.
How about a gunlady?! Emma wearing her pink sweat bands popping off an Uzi James, Jai, and Ali could be used as human shields!

All i can say is it better not be Cain. My blood pressure can't take it after Zak's attack, the garage fire and the aneurysm. The rest can take their chances, but I'd happily shove Sam or Marlon in front of the crazed gunman, terrorist or runaway bus

I don't think it's necessary either, and if she did do that, especially to some of the longer term characters, she'd lose all respect (if she has any now) from the rest of the cast, and while they'd still do their jobs, they wouldn't go the extra mile and pull out the stops for her as they've done in the past for others. Motivation would be fear for their jobs, not enjoyment like it has been.

The worship of Cain from the fans and the producers, who seem to love posting gratuitous photos of him on the FB/twitter pages, sometimes baffles me.

Same I love both her and Cain, I'm a Coira lover , but you know when you just have a really bad gut feeling something will happen, well I do have that and I have it about them.

I think it is doing well to, I love how all the characters are actually getting a chance to shine and no characters are really being massively overused.

I would put myself in the Coira ship as well however I'm getting to the point where I would actually want Moira away from him. She was much more fun back in the day and when they were just dating and he is a terrible husband but then I'm really going off Cain and his 'he'll save the day, everyday' act. It's boring and beyond tedious.

Indeed, I wouldn't mind Marlon, Sam, Lisa, Debbie or Belle being one of the Dingles to be killed off, the rest I would probably cry if they died, apart from Chas

Moira can't leave!?!?! I'd be devastated. Ok, she's not what she was, but I still love her.

Plus I'm pretty sure Natalie Robb said a few weeks ago that she had just renewed her contract, so hopefully that means she's safe.

Gratuitous photos???Where???I've missed these
Each to their own JOP. As to the producers, if they think s character is popular, they're going to taje advantage of that for marketing. It's not favouritism any more than it is when Aaron's plastered all over magazines. Can't say I'm on FB or Twitter much these days but I don't remember ED posting gratuitous photos of any of the actors.

I do agree with you though. I dislike 'using' actors who are popular and considered sexy, as marketing tools. Its a sad reality in the acting world I guess, but it must feel quite degrading for the actors to be used in that way.

Look on the bright side. Moira and Cain probably will split up but it doesn't necessarily mean death, or either of them leaving. Positive thinking, folks.
