I think he is meant to be more of a 'wrong un' than a hard man. The only time we've seen him display violence is against David and lets get real here, you don't need to be hard to go up against David Platt!!!!

Callum is as camp as Sean. Seriously they should have got the actor to play Billy the vicar and had the guy who plays Billy, who is MUCH better loking than Callum, to play Callum.
I find Callum insipid, not good looking at all, quite repulsive and a rubbish actor to boot. I FF through his scenes.

Yes, he is quite camp in the way he delivers his line, which is fine. But I don't think he was meant to come over that way. Maybe part-writing, part-the way the actor delivers the lines.

I'd say that Callum is more panto than camp....I don't see any camp traits in the character or the actor.

Either do I, though the only time I ever noticed a camp delivery from him was when he was in Audrey's getting his hair-cut by David. This was before David knew who Callum really was. I remember watching it and
But what's wrong with a bit of camp? It makes a change from Aaron (Emmerdale) who walks around with a moody face 24/7. Callum has something likable about him in my opinion and it is looking very likely that they are trying to mellow him. But the writing for the character is awful, so that doesn't help his case. At the end of the day, an actor can only work with the stuff which they are given!

Seconded! But people on this forum use the words 'bullying' , 'gay' and 'camp' too loosely, that the words have lost their true meaning... A good-looking man is considered gay, a good-looking woman is branded sl**ty or vain and then there is just everything else inbetween!

He is only "camp' in the way that Noel and Liam Gallagher are "camp". It's a combination of swagger and accent which has nothing to do with being gay, and all to do with being a true Manc!

When he had hold of David and was threatening him and we saw a side view of his face he didn't look as handsome. He looked a bit weasel - like, but that is just my opinion. But in all his other scenes he seemed a handsome guy.

All they need to do is pair him with Todd and have a secret affair like RobRon on Emmerdale and it would do wonders for Callum's character
