One of the actors accidentally gave away a huge spoiler:

Just heard that a new 3 minute trailer will be airing next week on 15th. It'll be during a documentary about TFA, and will coincide with the start of Celebration Europe.
Watched it. It was ok I suppose.

That wasn't the proper trailer. It was a short feature on the film.

The trailer wasn't shown on the stream/net but was shown exclusively to people attending. (unless you was there of course)

It was also leaked in a very blurry video.

Huge Donnie Yen fan, hope he has a lot of ass kicking scenes. Wouldn't mind seeing him swing a lightsabre around.

The fighting in the later Star Wars movies did seem to be getting more and more Kung Fu esque.

The new (unblurred) trailer will finally be released on Thursday 11th, during some US Olympic broadcast or other.

My guess is about 3am - that'll make it about 10 in NYC and 7 in LA, getting prime time in both. Hopefully I'm wrong though & we get it around midnight ....

@Inky Binky. Thanks for the HD link.

I like the look of it visually but there's something off about it, something a bit detached perhaps.

The response looks positive though (they could've just posted the last five seconds and Twitter would've imploded).

Going back in time and not having gone behind the mask in Star Wars does rather wonderfully allow us to see Vader again. And who doesn't want that.

This does look really good though I am a little worried about the reports that Disney might have bottled it and carried out hasty reshoots to tone down the films darker edges.

It's fine having the main 7, 8 and 9 as being more kid friendly but if Disney want to grow the franchise, having alternative darker films is what they need to offer greater range and variety.

TFA was safe but in hindsight a little disappointing. I appreciate why Abrams played it safe but watching it again after buying it on Blu Ray, I did have to concede that it isn't that great of a film.

Some of the shots in the trailers alone have been simply magnificent. I absolutely loved the parting shot in the original teaser with Jyn standing in the Death Star's corridor with all the white lights surrounding her.

And in this trailer they have the beautiful shot with Jyn going toe to toe with a freakin' TIE Fighter.

Plus that nice little moment to let the audience know Vader is back.

Oh yes, I am very, very excited for this.

It looked good though i still wonder what it would have been without all the re-shoots.

They aren't the hardcore fans though, because if you look on the uber-nerd boards at theforce.net for example, having a pretty girl front and center of Star Wars is like manna from heaven for them. Can't think why.

Yeah I myself have no issue with someone like Felicity Jones getting the lions share of the screen time and can't imagine many fellas being that upset with it

Yeah, her and Daisy Ridley aren't exactly hard on the eye are they?

I actually think, from a purely comic / pulp / serial angle from which these movies are derived, that a female as the lead is actually more appropriate.

To those of us who were around in '77 and are not uber-fans, Vader defines SW as much as anything. Or more than anything, perhaps.

This does look really good though I am a little worried about the reports that Disney might have bottled it and carried out hasty reshoots to tone down the films darker edges.
There's reports Tony Gilroy (who has a writing credit) took over reshoot duties from Gareth Edwards. Doesn't sound smooth.

I actually agree with that point, and honestly I found Rey a more compelling character than Luke in the original trilogy. And as for Jyn, it obviously remains to be seen what her character arc is, but if that scene with her going toe to toe against a TIE Fighter is legit - and not a fake out where the TIE Fighter pilot is revealed to be an ally - then that alone makes her one of the most interesting characters Star Wars has had since Obi Wan Kenobi imo.

Can't help thinking you're letting yourself get carried away and are creating scenario in your head based on very little. It appears the TIE Fighter comes up at her and she finds herself unexpectedly facing it at close range. That's not the same as going toe to toe.

Very excited about the premise. It's a story I've always wanted to see. More Vader is alway good. There's some stunning cinematography in there. But..... I just hope we're not as bored as everyone in the film looks. It feels a bit "flat".
