Can't help thinking you're letting yourself get carried away and are creating scenario in your head based on very little. It appears the TIE Fighter comes up at her and she finds herself unexpectedly facing it at close range. That's not the same as going toe to toe.
Yeah that's fair enough, I still think it's quite a cool little scene regardless of what actually happens though.

Looks so good.

I admit when I heard Disney were taking over I feared for the worst.. especially when they mentioned the dreaded "spin offs" word. But this looks very decent and could rival the force awakens.

I am super excited about this film. I do wish they would leave the director's original cut of the film alone. Afterall, from the very beginning he did say that he was making a "war" film set in the Star Wars universe and that it would be darker than previous SW films. So this was no surprise to the Disney "suits". Having said that, I'm not concerned about the reshoots to lighten the film a bit. I just want to see it. I like what the trailers are showing us. I like the actors. I'm loving the visuals. I dig the plot. I need to see this.

Is it December yet?

@Inky Binky. Thanks for the HD link.
You're very welcome.

New international trailer released - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48XWkN0jBQY

Slight differences to the previous one, seems to have more dialogue and scenes.

It looks like an absolutely stunning film.

I had my doubts about these anthology movies, but the trailers for Rogue One have won me over. Looks much better than I had expected it to be.

Agreed! I was really excited about the prospect of them opening up the Star Wars world a bit with a different feel. I'll still be all over this but I'll be curious about the movie that wasn't quite...

Anyone else checking out the new Star Wars toys out today? I'll be popping to the local Menkind to grab some of the Pop Vinyl -- the Scarif Stormtrooper looks sweet: https://funko.com/products/pop-star-...f-stormtrooper

Can't wait for this film - even more excited than for The Force Awakens last year.

I'll be there in the opening day queue in my "I Rebel" T-shirt.

Looks great, even more impressive than Force Awakens in some ways. Here's hoping for an engaging storyline and characters, the potential is certainly there.

I'm beginning to think the reshoots were only done to include more of Vader. The latest poster has his face looming out of the Death Star.

In the original film Vader said "She must have hidden the plans in the escape pod. Send a detachment down to retrieve them. See to it personally, Commander. There'll be no one to stop us this time"

So who stopped him? Most likely Krennic, wanting to capture the plans himself to impress the Emperor.

When Disney bought Lucas Film i said to my friend Disney will rape Star Wars for everything they can, so did not want them to do it.
Saw Force awakens and couldn't get a niggling feeling out of my head for days, then realised what it was, id seen it somewhere before.
Oh yeah 39 years ago in 1977, they've just re made Star Wars.
And then... Rogue One, OMFG i so so cannot wait for this, made me feel the same way i did the first time i saw Star Wars, seriously so excited for this, it looks , feels and sounds like Star Wars.

Question, what happens if it takes more than Force?? it could happen if people prefer the old look.

Seems unlikely, it's maybe not as family friendly as Force Awakens? Also, Disney have stated they don't expect it to match Force Awakens in box office, for many reasons. I'm just hoping it has a compelling narrative. Much as I enjoyed Force Awakens, the story felt pretty cookie cutter.

I wouldn't be surprised if it does make more than The Force Awakens, the trailers seem to be getting fairly universal praise and if the word of mouth from those who are the first to see it is good, I can see this being THE film this Christmas.

Disney are already going with a "young Han Solo" film and there is talk of a Boba Fett movie too, although I'm not sure how that one would work as he's not exactly an anti-hero. That said, a Darth Vader stand alone story movie could be incredible.

Ewan McGregor has also said recently that he'd love to an Obi-Wan Kenobi stand alone movie. I wonder if they'll decide that Mace Windu survived, I could see a Sam Jackson coming back for one of those.

It will be interesting to see what Disney do after Episode IX (in 2019/2020?) - will they stick with the 'stand alone' films that are set in the 'past' or look at making ones that are set after Episode IX or even make episodes X, XI and XII?

I'd be surprised if it did anywhere near as well as Force Awakens. TFA's big appeal was that it was the first Star Wars movie in more than a decade and that it featured the original cast. Rogue One's main audience will most likely be people who are already fans of the original trilogy.

This movie does look absolutely stunning, however. I'm looking forward to seeing the plucky Rebel Alliance vs the big, bad Empire again; the heroes being the underdogs against the clunking fist of the Empire added an edge to the original trilogy which was kind of lacking in TFA. Rogue One is set during the height of the Galactic Empire's pomp and power AND we've got Vader back Can't wait.

Then you should check out the TV series Star Wars: Rebels (which also has Vader - proper Vader with James Earl Jones)

That's what I thought as well but given the surprising level of interest it might do better than expected, could still be the biggest hit of the year.

The difficulty with any kind of prequel is that the outcome is often known, so the focus has to be on how to generate emotional connection with the characters and story that get us to the conclusion. I have high hopes for this, it does look great and I like the cast.

An advertisement for a product using the ROGUE ONE film as a backdrop was released. It's how a rebel soldier prepares for battle against the empire. Here's the LINK

I didn't know Chris Weitz was writing this. He's very mixed. It can be very good or very bad.

This is the frequent parody concept for Star Wars, the ordinary life of a Rebel/Storm Trooper.
