BBC iPlayer not working tonight (19/04/2015)

I am on BT Infinity and BBC iPlayer will not work on either my Samsung TV or WD Live box.

Really wanted to watch the Bahrain GP.

Annoying!

Has anybody else got this problem?

Is it specific to BT? Or a total iPlayer fail?

Thanks

Working for me on BT Infinity 1. Playing the F1 coverage now. Whatever the problem is it is nearer to your end.

Ok, what kind of device are you watching on?

The samsung smart hub seems to have gone down again, same as a couple of months ago.

It's affecting mine and my daughters, she lives 3 miles away so it's not my setup.

Seems to be a problem with iPlayer on Samsung TVs (but I also had a problem using my WD Live player):

it isn't just iPlayer on samsungs, the only app that seems to work is demand 5 as that doesn't go through samsungs servers.

Ok, lame, why do Samsung proxy iPlayer through their own servers? Seems like a waste of time and bandwidth?

It's a big outage, there's reports from Egypt, Eastern Europe, Norway, USA, Puerto Rico.

Last time it was just certain models of Samsung and Sony TV's as well.

Thanks. Is there a Samsung forum or something where you get this information from?

I got it from here

http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/samsung.com.html

Apparently the fix this time was to change the DNS of the TV to 208.67.222.222

I've noted this down for next time, there will be one
