I mean, she batters her, and then Lucy dies of a head trauma. Although she didn't cause the trauma, surely she would have believed that she did, given that she didn't see Lucy for the rest of the night?

Perhaps Denise will be the one who gets falsely arrested, and she pleads guilty?

It would certainly explain her descent into alcohol abuse and general personality shift, but the fact that Lucy ended up being dumped on the common probably means she really does believe someone else killed her.

If Jane hadn't dumped the body, I do think Denise would've thought she was guilty.

I suppose it's just something that needs to be explored. I would like Denise to come into the forefront a bit over the summer, especially with her scene with Lucy, and her later alcohol abuse. I don't want it to just be "something that happened", it calls for an explanation, really.

I think Denise will end up getting arrested and that will be her big storyline. But Denise knows she didn't kill Lucy because the body was dumped in the common.

I think it was just part of the whole "whodunnit" story line.. so they had to make it look like she had a motive and may have done it before the eventual reveal of Bobby. Most of what happened that night was just to keep people guessing.

I've just realised how many loose ends there still are to this storyline. There's Denise, Abi, her purse and phone etc. I can't wait for it to come back to the fore again!

That's a good question which could definitely explain why Denises behaviour and attitude has had such a downgrade since Lucy died, I hope this is a loose end that gets tied up and explained because I am curious as well. She really hurt Lucy that night but it still wouldn't explain to her how Lucy made it to the common

I don't think Denise hurt Lucy THAT much. All she did was push her to the floor and they had a brief scuffle.

Lucy started it anyway - she slapped Denise hard across the face.

Is it confirmed someone gets arrested? If that's the case then EE are really getting value for money for that prison set. Its literally one character out, another in.

Yes. After the killer reveal, it was revealed that one character would be falsely arrested. It would be interesting if it was Cindy as it would be a "which child will Ian choose" sort of thing, but Denise is another possibility.

Is Denise still on the show? I don't think she focusses on it.
