Have a look at this tweet...

https://mobile.twitter.com/AmyRobins...56042433773568

Looks like there will be a Scottish candidate called Sarah Hand.

Regardless I don't think the producers will be happy she put that on Twitter!

Anyhow I'm gonna be watching Twitter tomorrow cos I think that will be the first task which is always on the streets and so there are plenty of photos.

Can't wait to see what they look like and how many candidates there are this year!

I doubt it. Karren isn't filming today by the looks of things.

Hmmmm... Strange. I hope that that girl in the tweet was actually talking about what I thought she was?!

I think I've been misled as it seems LS was in the U.S. as of yesterday!

I imagine that any candidate whose name was leaked on Twitter beforehand would get into serious trouble. When I was auditioning for Big Brother, they said that I could be disqualified if they got wind of anyone knowing about my involvement, even if it's just a Twitter comment. I'd already told loads of friends that I'd planned to audition, so when they asked I had to lie, saying that I hadn't got in, apart from a couple of very close people who knew the truth. I know that The Apprentice isn't quite as cloak-and-dagger, but given that we almost never hear anything about the candidates in advance, I think it highly likely that they are given very clear warnings that their time on the show could be compromised if their name is leaked. A friend of mine knows Ella Jade - he doesn't watch the show and knew nothing about her involvement, it just came out when her name (obviously quite an unusual name) was raised in a conversation with quite a lot of people. He said, 'Oh, I know an Ella Jade!' and brought up her Facebook profile, and it was her! The fact that he didn't know suggests that they aren't allowed to say anything on Facebook or anything.

Having said that, it wouldn't surprise me if the producers are trying to play a game with us. They must know how thorough the people on this forum are at finding spoilers. Who's to say that they aren't getting people to write things like that on Twitter just to fool us? Wouldn't put it past them...

Yep I feel as though this tweet was some sort of red herring!

Last year's filming started a year ago next week, so I imagine we'll be seeing photos on the Twitter certainly in the next 2 weeks.

I just wonder why we haven't heard about Nick's replacement yet! Weeks and weeks ago, someone from the BBC said that the announcement would be 'soon'. At this rate, it will be leaked though photos before it's announced!

Has it occurred to you that given Dara is stepping down this year as well, Nick could replace him on You're Fired? I haven't heard anything to that effect, it's just an idea I've had. Nick has proved himself to be a capable TV presenter in his own right with Countdown, it obviously wouldn't be as strenuous as following the candidates around and it would be a nice way of continuing his involvement with the Apprentice franchise. I'd be completely happy if Ricky took over as an advisor; I think he'd be a very good advisor. Although presumably he wouldn't still be an interviewer if that happened, as no one has been both an advisor and an interviewer in the same series since Series 1. I would miss him as an interviewer, as I thought he was fantastic (so much better than Margaret) but he'd be great as an advisor as well.

That's an interesting idea! But he is 'retiring' so I think if he were to remain with TA in any capacity it would be as an interview. Ricky as an advisor looks like a possibility.

Is he retiring from all of his television jobs? I thought he was just retiring from what he does on The Apprentice. It makes total sense, as he is now 71 and I imagine chasing after the candidates gets very strenuous, especially as you get older. But if he's still doing his presenting work, like Countdown and the occasional documentaries that he does with Margaret, I don't see why doing You're Fired! would be any different.

Well yes, but if you think about the reasons why he's retiring, an extra day of work involving sitting around in a studio talking to people doesn't seem too bad compared to his job as an advisor.

Who would you like to see replace Dara? I think Nick would do a really good job actually, as he's entertaining enough to make it work, whilst also knowing enough about the process to keep it slightly more serious. Failing him, I'm sure there are numerous people who could do it. I hope they don't get another one of Dara's mates who were forever cropping up, it was so bad last series. I missed a couple of episodes - it's happened before that I haven't had time for some reason to watch them on the day and I catch up later on iPlayer, but this time I didn't bother catching up as I just had no motivation to. This is the first time I've done this since I became a regular viewer. I don't normally do casual viewing of anything, I either watch something religiously or I don't bother at all, but it just got so depressingly stupid I really couldn't be bothered to waste my time with it. I'm utterly relieved that Dara's gone, to be honest - he was great for a few years, but I felt he was a large part of what was wrong with it. He didn't seem interested in the candidates at all, just in taking the mickey and making jokes that may have been funny to start with, but we all got sick of long before he did. (Like the joke about Felipe referring to himself in the third person - it was quite an entertaining observation the first time, but Dara went on and on and on about it, and I was thinking, 'Get him off!')

I agree it's about time we had a new face of YF. I do think the producers will possibly go for another comedian, but I just hope Dara's replacement takes the show more seriously! It also comes down to the producers. I really wish it was just a show where we got to know the fired candidate more and get the firing from their perspective, with unseen footage and analysis of the candidates and tasks.

Hmmm... it seems that Sarah Hand is still using social media. I wonder what the repercussions for what she's done will be? Perhaps she won't be allowed to be a candidate? Or perhaps this person who tweeted isn't even tweeting about what we think she is

I shouldn't really be sharing this but there will be 50 initially allowing for whole teams to be arbitrarily fired. At other points useless candidates will be kept in because they're being set up for careers on reality TV (mainly Celebrity Big Brother). And in line with the past few years tasks which should be won or lost not only on profits but on customer satisfaction (like the coach trip last year) will be designed by a bunch of monkeys with typewriters (they have enough in this year I'm told to hopefully come up with the story for series 3 of Broadchurch).

So, the candidates were spotted at Billingsgate this morning in yellow coats?! Hopefully get some pictures later.

Also someone on Twittee said the candidates would be filming at some creative agency on Friday. Sounds like the typical second task.

Funny! Although someone on the Big Brother thread claimed that James was only kept in for entertainment value, and I had to remind the person that actually he was fired on only the second occasion that he was in the boardroom (and I wouldn't have supported his firing in Week 3 because by that point he hadn't shown himself to be quite as bad as he turned out to be, plus Lindsay and Nurun had already gone).

First picture and hint at task

They are selling fish cakes. Seeing as they were at Billingsgate this morning, perhaps the task was to set up a food stall with fish products?

Also, could be wrong but looks like it could be mixed teams for the first task for the first time ever? Id like that - they need a change.

I would hate that. I don't mind what they did in Series 3 with Jadine and Andy, but if it went any further than that in the early weeks it would be incredibly difficult to remember who was on what team.

I think I remember you saying that you'd never seen the US version? In Season 3 they did people who had gone to uni vs people who hadn't. I am not sure how they'd do it here as such a high proportion of Brits go to university...

But anyway, my point is, it was actually not very difficult to remember who was on which team. I would like to see them try this here.

I don't know if you've looked at the photo but it certainly looks like there are 2 men and 2 women who are making up a subteam?

Hmm, we'll see, I guess. I just think that the reason that the UK version seems to be generally better received than the US version is because Lord Sugar doesn't generally mess with the format unnecessarily. This is not Big Brother, we don't need 'twists' every couple of series to spice things up. The change from a job to a business investment was necessary because of the capacity in which Lord Sugar now works. I hope he's not getting bored of things and trying to spice things up, because I think that would be the death of the show. I was very surprised to learn last year that it was apparently him, and not the production team, who thought it was a good idea to increase the number of candidates.
