All I ever hear is Lee is an awful boring character, get rid of him.

Where does this negativity come from?

I think most people don't even notice him. He just stands about not really offering anything. Maybe if he's ever given a story or any character development people will like him more.

But that in itself is a negative, yes?

In which case, is it the actor, the character, or the writers' fault?

It's the writer's fault
How can an actor stand out when they are not being given any material to show their talent?

People say he is a crap character and actor. But in actual fact he isn't. Because he hasn't been given no material for anyone to give a valid and fair reason.

I don't hate him but he's a bit boring. He hasn't had much to do and the viewers haven't invested in him.

I don't hate him, it's too strong a word. He's dull but that's largely because they don't let him burst out of the Vic aside from his interactions with Whitney.

Compared to the previous group of 20-somethings who were just atrocious (Tyler, Anthony and Joey. Leon Small was OK though) Lee is preferable.

I agree with this I am not a Lee fan but Danny-Boy has not been able to showcase his talent. DTC has not developed either Lee or Nancy at all as characters.

I think DTC put all his effort into Johnny and neglected the other two Carter offspring, and it backfired on him. The actor is fine, the character has plenty of potential, but for some reason he is not used.

Boring character-seems like an add on to the Carters. Weak actor. Doesn't have the chemistry with the other that some others do ie: Nancy (Maddy Hillls) hasn't had any interesting sl's

I don't mind him but some of the facial expressions he pulls are very distracting!

Lee has grown on me

I was very impressed with his acting when Nancy and Lee found out about Linda's rape. He has't been given much to do though.

People don't even hate him because he hasn't done enough, they just don't find him necessary. He's had no decent material and lacks the sibling chemistry that johnny had with Nancy. He just doesn't fit in and was clearly an add-on to bump up the family's numbers. At most, he should have been a support character who doesn't live on the square.

He's just dull and surplus to requirements in my opinion, him and Whitney should run off into the sunset together. Both do nothing.

To be fair he hasn't had much to do. None of the storylines have actually revolved around him and he is just a background Carter at the moment. He does need more development as a character but i don't see this as the fault of the actor.

No I don't blame the actor, I blame the producers for introducing a character who's only storyline was shagging Lucy Beale before she died.

I don't think people hate him, well I certainly don't. He's just kind of pointless and underdeveloped as a character. I always thought he was an unnecessary addition to the Carters, and it's become apparent to me that he was cast purely to make up the numbers in the Carter family (like there aren't enough of them ).

I mean what has he actually done since he arrived on the Square? Shag Lucy and Whitney... Cry about his time in the Army... And nothing else really. What is the point of him? It doesn't help that he barely gets much screentime compared to the other Carters and his acting isn't the greatest if I'm being honest.

When Johnny left, I thought, okay this could be Lee's chance to shine finally. But it hasn't really happened. DTC obviously doesn't rate the character or the actor. Which begs the question, why bother casting the role if he's only there to be a background character? He adds nothing to the Carters.

He is the definition of dull there is absolutely nothing to him, he doesn't have a personality. He also barely opens his mouth when he speaks which really irritates me, he'd make a great ventriloquist.

Give him and Whitney a storyline

Sadly very true. And that's all down to the lack of development and characterisation for Lee. He's a filler character and nothing more.

I like Lee and think he has great potential. I think the actor is very capable of more. I don't understand the seeming reluctance on the writers' part of developing him more, but perhaps his time is coming. I like him with Whitney, and I think he bounces off of Nancy, Mick, and Linda well.

I feel a bit about Lee as I did with Shabnam a few months ago - good actor, tons of potential, where's the storyline? My opinion on Shabnam has improved a lot since she became friends with Stacey, involved with Kush, and we've found out about Roya.
