I think they may have misjudged it a bit. Corrie is usually quite good at mixing humour and drama, but here you've got characters who we're meant to laugh at one minute and be scared of the next, and it's hard to pull off: With the exception of Callum, who is actually capable of turning on the menace when required, none of them are a credible threat so it's hard to believe David's in real danger. Maybe there's a clever twist coming?

After a decent entrance, Sarah is starting to turn into wallpaper. I'm hoping they've got something planned for Bethany rather than just thinking it'd be cool to have a snarky teenager on the show, and the fact Sarah and Maria used to best friends seemed largely ignored with them being played as virtual strangers.

What else? Billy, Sean and some dead girl. The Roy and Sharif stuff actually wasn't that bad, there's the potential for decent byplay between them.

Doesn't Billy have his own vicarage?
Good question. He would probably have an housekeeper.

It says a lot when David seems like the most sensible sane one in the Platt House
Don't be fooled

6 mins in and 4 mins of Stereotype
Who ????
David cracks me up at times.
Poor choice Jewelius

Michelle Keegan is back!
I thought that on first sight

Les Dennis is looking a bit red
I tought he was a Conservative ?

Julie really is a horrible,do-gooding busybodying, interfering nosey old sow who should damn well mind her own business .She's exactly the sort of person I'd take two buses a taxi and a 5 mile walk to avoid
She made a mistake. but she was well intentioned.

Coronation Street Gangster
Post of the thread

Got to admit, Callum was quite scary in that scene with the clippers, honestly though he was going I do something That blonde girl as a criminal is laughable though, as if David would be afraid of her
But Platt is 5 stone wringing wet

David blackmailed Andy into helping set up Callum but the plan went wrong because Gandy messed up planting the drugs in Callum's car and got caught in the act.
So what exactly was Platt's master plan? Phone the Police? They already know that Callum sells drugs.

"Where's David?"
"He's being raped by gangsters."
I do not believe that a selfish little git like Platt would have given himself up.

Someone needs to burn Sean hideous shirt...and then him
Poor sean. He even gets attacked for his clothes.

It's nice to see Sean happy for once
You are a very nice poster

How ridiculous, David could have easily dived past that car, especially if he'd gone to the right before the car got a chance to steer in the opposite direction
Did you see the daft way that he runs???

Tonight's ep was just laughable. Can't take callum and his little gang seriously at all.
We aren't meant to.

We are on the verge of opening a huge can of worms!
Well if Sarah can't AFFORD A DRESS FOR A WEDDING SHE CERTAINLY CAN'T AFFORD A ROUND TRIP TO MILAN just so she can collect her possessions now can she.

Okay, I'm going to regret this but....why would Gavin not spending his birthday with his mum and old friends?
Because he is spending it with his dad and new friends, if he was alive that is.

Watching these two going hammer and tongs makes me think Why am I watching this crap
I've just caught up on last night's Corrie and I'm actually ashamed of myself for even watching! The acting, casting, script etc is dire in so many cases. The guy playing Callum isn't exactly menacing, as for his sidekicks, well...

The best thing on Corrie these days is Sally & Tim, I would be happy to see the back of almost everyone else. Start with Sean, The Windasses, (including Miley,) Fizz, just don't bring her back, Ches & Sinead, Eileen & Todd plus the current set of story planners and writers.

It is a shame to see such a once brilliant programme descended into this farcical nonsense. I appreciate soaps have their ups and downs depending on the popularity of individual story lines but this is more about the quality of drivel we are being presented with.

As I said at the start, I need to have a long hard word with myself about wasting my time watching. I've watched it since Emily and Ernest got married so I feel a loyalty but I've got a breaking point....
