I think they may have misjudged it a bit. Corrie is usually quite good at mixing humour and drama, but here you've got characters who we're meant to laugh at one minute and be scared of the next, and it's hard to pull off: With the exception of Callum, who is actually capable of turning on the menace when required, none of them are a credible threat so it's hard to believe David's in real danger. Maybe there's a clever twist coming?

After a decent entrance, Sarah is starting to turn into wallpaper. I'm hoping they've got something planned for Bethany rather than just thinking it'd be cool to have a snarky teenager on the show, and the fact Sarah and Maria used to best friends seemed largely ignored with them being played as virtual strangers.

What else? Billy, Sean and some dead girl. The Roy and Sharif stuff actually wasn't that bad, there's the potential for decent byplay between them.

Tonight's offering was laughable.

She made a mistake. but she was well intentioned.

But Platt is 5 stone wringing wet

So what exactly was Platt's master plan? Phone the Police? They already know that Callum sells drugs.

I do not believe that a selfish little git like Platt would have given himself up.

Poor sean. He even gets attacked for his clothes.

Well if Sarah can't AFFORD A DRESS FOR A WEDDING SHE CERTAINLY CAN'T AFFORD A ROUND TRIP TO MILAN just so she can collect her possessions now can she.

I've just caught up on last night's Corrie and I'm actually ashamed of myself for even watching! The acting, casting, script etc is dire in so many cases. The guy playing Callum isn't exactly menacing, as for his sidekicks, well...

The best thing on Corrie these days is Sally & Tim, I would be happy to see the back of almost everyone else. Start with Sean, The Windasses, (including Miley,) Fizz, just don't bring her back, Ches & Sinead, Eileen & Todd plus the current set of story planners and writers.

It is a shame to see such a once brilliant programme descended into this farcical nonsense. I appreciate soaps have their ups and downs depending on the popularity of individual story lines but this is more about the quality of drivel we are being presented with.

As I said at the start, I need to have a long hard word with myself about wasting my time watching. I've watched it since Emily and Ernest got married so I feel a loyalty but I've got a breaking point....
