Goodmans GPDR1 288Mb Digital Media Player, anyone got one of these, i was thinking about getting one from pcworld, at the moment they are under £130. I was wondering if they are any good, I want it mainly to watch films on and was wondering what the quality is like, at the moment i watch films on my nokia 6600 but it takes ages to upload onto the phone using bluetooth,

Hi, just got the GPDR40. It's not bad. It has a larger screen but then it is £120 dearer. Sound playback thru onboard speaker is crap but quite good when used with headphones. The Picture is good with plenty of colour, but suffers the stutter of MPEG4, although it takes a bit of fast action to show it up. Showing any video content back thru the TV is garbage, although to be honest I would think that all PDR's will be the same in this respect as there is a lot of compression to get to MPEG4. (Anyone please let me know if you KNOW different) Plus the usual crap you get on phones these days - calender, clock games for 3 year olds.

I imagine the GPDR1 won't be a lot different, just smaller storage, screen etc. Of course having said all this I have to admit that I love mine and wouldn't be without it. Good luck on your choice.
