Phil's line about coffins turning Sharon on was sick.

Shows the level of respect he has for her.
I thought this too

Ian would never think Linda was lying about being raped. Never.
No which pretty shitty considering he own mother was a victim of rape twice.

Very very good point. Bad dialogue.

I don't find Ian's reaction entirely unbelievable. He has only known Linda a little over a year and they haven't always gotten on in that time. That's not to suggest he doesn't believe her out of spite; just that they are not close enough for him to intrinsically know whether she's telling the truth or not.

Kathy's rape didn't stop Ian referring to Whitney as a "walking STD" or from buying the premises where it took place. I don't see why being related to a rape victim means he has to believe every rape claim that he hears. In Kathy's case she reported it straight away and there was physical evidence that sexual contact had taken place, torn clothes and bruising on her body backed up her claim that it was non-consensual.

Remember Ian is an outsider, and with the CPS's decision not to prosecute Dean, a rape never having taken place is a believable conclusion for someone to reach. Linda destroyed the evidence and waited ages to report it.

This is now entirely a case of one person's word vs. another's.

I don't know. Victims of rape (or family of) might be more scornful of people they believe are making false accusations - a "if you knew how awful it really is you wouldn't do it" mentality.

That said, i think Ian would be more along the lines of not commenting as they don't know all the facts. Although, he has a low opinion of women and their cheating doesn't he, he's more inclined to believe they would than wouldn't.

I agree.

That is what i was trying to say in my last post.

Discretion would be the better part of valour here but it isn't unrealistic for somebody that isn't that close to it to assume that the Police and CPS have been thorough and no charges being brought indicated it didn't happen.

False accusations are made and as you've pointed out, it is different to Ian's experience with rape as Kathy did all the 'right' things - keeping the clothes, reporting it straight away and Linda did all the 'wrong' things which does make the claim that it was consensual and she has cried rape after the fact when she thought it would come out another way plausible.

We, the audience saw it happen and saw how destroyed Linda was afterwards. Ian and others like him, didn't.

Sorry if this treads on anyone's toes but I couldn't find it anywhere

Written by Daran Little so should be good
35 minutes before is not an emergency.

Nobody gives a shit about Cora. Don't blame them.
Cora is cross she's not a Carter

Cora's back to being awful.
She has always been awful
Good Carol & Shirley scene completely ruined by Shirley being a vile, cruel spiteful cow to Linda.
Shirley has always been awful as well

I wonder if Nancy's idea of lingerie is a sports bra and spanx? Lucky Tamwar (!)
Nancy is a very stupid young woman.

On another note Dots martyrdom is grating.
Hav to agree

I'm still not sure why Dot is in prison.

A well known drug addict and wanted criminal overdosed and she is locked up.

The only reason she is inside is because she said she was responsible as if they would believe the dotty old bat.
Post of the thread

Is Lee still in the army he hasn't left the square for over a year.
It's safer in Albert Square

Cora, you hag - go away with your selfish guilt-trips. Darth Abbie telling it like is.
Well done Abigail.

Jane and Bobby did go to Lucy's funeral
to make sure she was dead

He's Philth

Am I the only one who can't muster any sympathy for Cora regardless of the circumstances?
No

The Philth - why do people even invite the heartless scumbag to funerals?

Why?
He owns all of Walford apart from The Arches.

Fantastic scene between Cora and Dot.
It was nought special.

Ian would never think Linda was lying about being raped. Never.

The scumbag has no redeeming features whatsoever - the fact he regards the funerals as such a joke shows that he does not give a toss about anybody but himself.

As for Sharon - I knew getting involved with him would totally destroy her.

And it has.

Ewww, TMI Babe! Necrophilic much...

Well done Abi for standing up to Cora. Nice to see Nice Abi again too.

This prison is sure lax on the number of visitors one can get in a day!

'It's my job to upset my family, not yours.' Meow, Cora!

Cora marked Dot's Matyr Card, though.

Interesting how Cora failed to mention Dexter in her list of loved family members.

Great last convo between the two 'frenemies', though.

Dean...

I think it's probably best that we don't try to solve the mystery publicly over who it was that forgot! 😁

Stan was a great character, played by the fantastic Tim West, but I'm a bit annoyed that they're shoehorning two funerals in together, rather than giving Jim the attention he deserved
