Hi guys.

To my shame I've forgotten most of my basic radio theory from my CB days.

Are the higher O2 frequencies or the lower EE ones better at penertrating in a building?

O2/Voda use 900Mhz (mainly for 2G) which is best at penetrating buildings, as lower is better.

EE and Three are on higher frequencies which don't work so well indoors, but they tend to have more masts to compensate.

I knew lower frequencies went further but I wasn't sure which was better in building.

Generically

O2/Vodafone use 900mhz for 2G and 3G, and also 2100 for 3G but have mast sites relatively far apart.
EE/Three use 1800mhz for 2G and 2100mhz for 3G and have a lot denser mast installations.

However I was indoor (at a bowling alley) this evening and there was no signal on O2, or Vodafone but my EE was mostly full signal and my colleagues Three was the same.

Conclusion - EE and Three have installed a mast/repeater nearby in the shopping/entertainment complex. Voda/O2 haven't.

There are a LOT more variables than just the frequency.

Both O2 and EE have been fine for me in buildings, but I think EE's coverage is better in rural areas, coastal etc.

Put a vodafone 900mhz and an EE 1800mhz mast outside your door, and I suspect they would both have quite good indoors coverage.

Mast position and distance - and sometimes the newer (EE & Three) networks have found it hard to get masts installed where Vodafone and O2 have already masts.

Well the PM was on vodafone's 2G 900mhz service and failed to get a signal.

Not with WiFi calling mate.
Works in castles, in the moat, up in the battlements in fact everywhere.
I've just had WiFi installed in the dungeons so I can call from there as well!!!
Hahahahahaha

Yeah, 6' 5".
Was at the motor show years ago (I mean like 20 years or so) and I brushed past him and only realised who it was after he'd passed. I'm 6'1" but I turned back and he was towering above everyone in the crowd.
Whatever you do make sure there's a hot meal waiting for him or else!!!
Hahahahaha

EDIT: The guy is a legend. His writing is the most hilarious I have ever read.
David Cameron is "a friend".
That guy ain't going anywhere.
He'll be back.
BBC already making bleating noises realising their mistake.
The whole thing could have been handled internally with no issues.
He know's he was wrong and by all accounts attempted to sort it.
James May has said he's not doing anything unless Clarkson is there. Good call!
