It seems to be her "new look", but yeah, she has a touch of the Bo Peep about her of late, can't understand why they can't just give her normal hair! Her own hair was a bit cray cray on the EastEnders Graham Norton Special!

I think characterisation is one of his biggest strengths so I don't think he's ruined anyone. My main issue is the overegging the storyline puddings and the gaps between them with characters disappearing. I'm not a fan of block storytelling but I think his characterisation and character development is pretty spot on.

lol I was clicking more than one and didn't notice right away.

Has to be Nancy or Dean.

It was supposed to be but with a low phone battery and the charger downstairs I posted as to not lose the poll list and not have to redo it.

Dean has definetly been ruined but I still like the character.
Mick is ruined at the moment but I think that will turn around pretty quickly.
Jay, Lola, Whitney I wouldn't say ruined they just need a story.

I agree with the pacing issue. I personally do like stories that pan out over a longer period and ebb and flow in the show but it has gone a bit too far at present. There is a discernable attempt to interlink stories which again has to be better than the single strand stuff in recent years but again it does tend to drag some stories out .

As for damage the only real damage I think that has been done is to the Beales. I said so at the time of the 30th but was shouted down by the DTC lovers (at the time). How on earth would Jane playing true to her character behave in the way she did vis a vis Lucy. Add on top Ian just accepting it. Ian is such a key character in EE that it matters. Messing up peripheral characters matters less as they come and go but undermining one of the original families is going to have long term impact.”

Well, you're wrong. I've not liked him since the start of his reign. The threads for and against him are easy enough to avoid.

Jays abrupt dumping of Abi and how he treated her afterwards...
Whitney with more lame excuses not to appear...
Lola I agree with

Alfie and Kat!

He has had them written badly and has now seemingly ousted them from the main show and sweetened the deal by giving them their own show!

Mick shoehorned screenhogger should be given the spin off! All Carter stories have become about him and Shirley and they are given the screentime at cost of others stories and characters. In disgusted with the aftermath of the suicide! As someone who has been where Kat is it should be shown on screen properly and not given this treatment. Alfie is atleast more bearable then mick.

The Philth for being even more of a pig and even more of a super-thug than he has ever been before.

A total joke of a character whose endless 'owning' storylines and invincibility became so bloody predictable even before Steve Owen left.

Sharon Watts - now just an utter doormat that the Philth wipes his feet on whenever he likes.

Denny Watts - a repulsive, bullying little git.

Ben Mitchell - a scumbag murderer with absolutely no remorse for battering a young mother to death.

Jay Brown - once a strong moral character and now just the Mitchell dogsbody.

I sense a pattern here...

What was Dean doing before though? I think this storyline has given the character more development now he's not going to jail. (Not that rape adds character to a person). In soap land, the baddies tend to be either hit and miss, but Dean's lack of acknowledgment could perhaps lead to a storyline in itself. Maybe he has some kind of disorder or something that could be looked into, if he's not leaving.

I think Sharon's comeback was just dreadful. How she could marry Phil after his involvement in Dennis's death, it's like those 2003-2005 years didn't exist. And her storylines haven't been great, it's like they wanted her back but didn't know what to do with her, just keep her as a secondary character. I think she should have come back looking for her biological parents for her sons sake or something instead of falling into Phil's arms. Then Ian talks her into staying etc.

Also, Shirley keeps taking one step forward and two steps back and it's so frustrating. She's one of my favourite characters, but she just keeps going in circles... I suppose that might be realistic but it is annoying.

I voted for lucy because it was completely short sighted killing off a legacy character with such potential, dean is ruined and mick has been ruined through the same storyline, Charlie is ruined and I get the the feeling Ronnie and Vincent will see him meet his grizzly end.

Why has Dean been ruined? He was never a well liked popular character and he still isnt

BIB: Agree! I have given DTC the benefit of the doubt on many things but if he destroys Shirley in this story then I won't be best pleased, at all!

I think he has ruined Dean, I would much rather have seen his relationship with Stacey develop, the drama surrounding him meeting his real dad and finding out Mick was his brother - which he accepted almost too quickly and therefore lost so much potential for drama and see him rebuild his relationship with Shirley - he could have turned into a little bit of 'bad boy' - got in with Vincent or something but making him a rapist and sacrificing his character for the story was unnecessary and a total waste, imo.

why has dtc gonefrom being like a god figure in here to somebody fans arent sure about

i said months ago, he wasnt that good, and found myself getting poo pooed.

in my eyes he has ruined kat and alfie, loved them in the vic, but ended up being chucked out, so the royal family could be invented.

they did say alfie, was gonna hit rock bottom, and then build himself back up though

I have never understood how this forum held him up to be so great and have said so from the start, his work is no better or worse than his predecessors and his storylines have been rehashed versions of past hits. Bringing Kathy back from the dead just like Den was brought back from the dead and having Shirley as Mick's secret mother and not his sister, just like Kat and Zoe, are just two of them. Killing off Nick Cotton for me was unforgivable and resurrecting Kathy from the dead in what seemed like a rushed piece to gain viewers and satisfy those obsessed with bringing people back from the dead was a step to far.

I don't think he has ruined anyone.

I would've said Sharon for being the Philth's doormat but her characterisation was compromised to worse extents by a succession of producers (Berridge, Kirkwood and Newman) pre-DTC.
