Its all guesswork. I'd say the report was based on some fan fiction that the reporter decided to run with

It's all rumour and speculation at the moment. A few online websites have reported this; whether or not its true... we'll have to wait until summer to find out.

It will be an absolute disgrace and a disgusting insult if longterm actors lose their jobs while the person responsible for turning huge numbers of viewers away from the show keeps her job. These actors/characters were there when the show was getting very good ratings so they are not the problem. While it's good to see they are at last concerned about the viewing figures I cannot believe they can still be blind to who the main problem is with this show. Her style and stories are a turn off for far too many people. This is not even debatable anymore.

ITV haven't issued anything and if KO gets hold of the alleged 'insider' (who probably doesn't exist) they'll be an inside-outsider. Quote:

![]() I never said a word about Kate Oates in my post. I was talking about the tea lady. She makes terrible tea, dresses like a tart and tells stupid stories which all puts everyone off their work. |

I think it would be too predictable if robert was killed off if this proves to be true
Killing off "the bad guy" can be lame. |

He worked best when he was being a complete bastard covering his tracks while driving Katie nuts. With all that danger over and done with he's not been quite the same since then. Him and Aaron as a normal gay couple would be deadly dull.

The speculation of this story gives me really bad memories of this From wikipedia Quote:
The Salem Stalker and Melaswen Island[edit] If Emmerdale does this they will see similar results. I do remember Kate Oates gave an interview a few months back where she spoke against using stories like this to boost ratings so hopefully she sticks to this unless this is a mandate by the network. Also are the ratings share down for Emmerdale? I know the ratings might be down but if the viewing share is unaffected then really the ratings are fine,
Days of Our Lives had been losing viewers in early 2000. The show managed to lure back James E. Reilly, who had left the show in 1997 to create his own soap opera, Passions.[28][29][30] NBC said at the time that the show, "Needed a fix, and we had the fix right here."[31] James E. Reilly began crafting a big story for the 2003–2004 season. Viewers were shocked to see long-term veteran Abe Carver (James Reynolds) shot at his front doorstep by a strange cloaked figure.[32] Next, viewers saw Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) attacked, and killed with a brick by the same cloaked figure that killed Abe.[32][33] It was official, James E. Reilly was crafting a "whodunnit?" murder storyline. Next, viewers saw 34-year veteran recovering alcoholic Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers) get bludgeoned to death with a wine bottle.[32][34] The next murder is Caroline Brady(Peggy McCay) who is poisoned.[32][35] Viewers then saw bad girl Cassie Brady (Alexis Thorpe) fall out of a Halloween pinata with stab wounds.[32][36] Marlena's ex-husband, Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) is murdered at his wedding to Kate Roberts.[32][37] At the Horton circus, the serial killer releases a tiger (named Horton), and sets him loose on Tony DiMera.[32][38] Tony is dying at the hospital, and, much to the fans surprise,[39] the killer is revealed to be Marlena.[39] Marlena's next victim is Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) who has been her friend for years. She kills him at Tom Horton's grave after he finds out she is the killer.[32] The most shocking murder occurs shortly after.[40]Alice Horton (Frances Reid) finds a bloody note at her husband's grave with Marlena's name on it. Subsequently, the evil Marlena murders Alice by choking her with her world-renowned donuts.[32][40] Marlena confesses, and is arrested by her husband, John Black. She is shot and killed on the prison rooftop.[32] The storyline allowed Days of our Lives to reach #2 in the Nielsen chart for soaps. After dwindling ratings again, the show makes its craziest decision yet. All the victims are brought back alive on the tropical Island of Melaswen (New Salem spelled backwards).[41] The fired actors (James Reynolds, Suzanne Rogers, Matthew Ashford, Alexis Thorpe, Josh Taylor, Peggy McCay, Frances Reid, and Deidre Hall) all returned to their original roles. There was also another twist, the killer wasn't Marlena. Stefano DiMera's nephew, Andre (posing as Tony DiMera) had kidnapped them and made Marlena think she was killing off her friends and family.[31] The storyline was incredibly controversial, and garnered the soap a lot of press.[41] |

Oh no i hated that. It was so boring. It was also obvious from the minute Katie was revealed to be leaving that he would have a hand in her death. I love Robert and Aaron. One of my fav couples in years.
