I didn't see the first part of the ep, but the actor, John Bardon, died last year. EE asked permission from his family to show Jim's funeral and I think that, out of respect, they'd be serious and do it properly.
Often people will use a person's full name in a funeral, whatever they were known as - i.e. James instead of Jim. In fact someone once told me that this is a legal requirement.

Sorry I re-watched it and what happened was Billy sent Jims coffin to the Vic for Stans funeral by mistake lol
