Kim Fox - stereotypical character, which I find quite offensive, poor acting and no way a story line around her character/acting could evoke audience compassion - init!

I've never had a problem with the rape storyline - I thought it went hand in hand with the Mick/ Shirley reveal and it put Linda, Mick and Shirley in a very difficult situation.

But it has gone on way too long. It's making Mick unlikeable, Dean unlikeable (obviously), Shirley unlikeable and now we have Buster who is immediately Team Rapist.

This storyline needs to end now. They've made their point that rape can be a very grey area in the eyes of the law, and that accusations of rape (whether they be true or false) can rip families apart. But it's not fun to watch and it's going round in circles now. Dean disappears, the family move on, Shirley softens, Dean re-appears, Mick and Shirley lock horns. Repeat x20.

I really like Matt Di Angelo, but the show needs to accept that viewers don't want to see a rapist and his smug supporters taunting the victim and her family - continually turning up at the family home/ family business uninvited.

It's just become very messy. I know we are supposed to feel sorry for Mick but the repetitive nature of the storyline means I'm bored of his sulking, and that's not right. We should be on his side but I'm just not buying it.

The only person I still feel for in the storyline is Linda.

Unfortunately I can't see the storyline dying until they prove Mick is the father of the baby. But even then, Dean still has another storyline (Roya) starting up. So, unfortunately, I don't see this hot mess of a storyline ending anytime soon.

Brilliant post. Spot on.

The thread isnt about what you care about its about what decisions dtc regrets the most.
As executive producer he does care about ratings and the things I mentioned in my original post.

Yes, and he also cares or at least he damn well should care about the quality of the show. Although given the complete joke he made of that storyline, perhaps not.

I don't know what he regrets but I know what he should bloody regret.

The utterly laughable Sharon 'revenge' storyline, not only could she have brought him down it would have been interesting to see the Philth crawling in the gutter for once.

But no - she marries King Cockroach despite everything he has done to her and now he continues to wipes his boots on her at every available opportunity with utter contempt - what a doormat she is.

Oh and Shirley shoots him from point blank range and he recovers in a few minutes with no psychological or physical damage whatsoever.

Very realistic.

I don't see how people can say the reveal was shit, the live episode was outstanding imo, definitely the best episode of EastEnders I've ever seen and amongst the best episodes of any TV show I've ever seen. The acting and particularly the writing was incredible, and I say that as an English Lit student so I know my fair share of drama. I'm pretty sure the aftermath is no way near finished so bit of a premature judgement on that part. Lucy was a great character but I would say her death was worth it for that episode alone.

I reckon he doesn't regret any of the storylines. He probably doesn't have much time to sit and dwell on things as some viewers. The storylines are planned out well in advance and he knows the bigger picture. He will never do storylines that all viewers will agree with cos we're all different and want different things for different characters.

I'm an English Lit graduate and I think it was shit. The amount of plot holes alone make the whole thing a joke. Neither the writing nor much of the acting impressed me.

I don't think he regrets a single thing.
