EastEnders
Mo Harris - Dame Judi Dench
Dot Cooton - Dame Maggie Smith
Sharon whatever her name is this week - Dame Helen Mirren.

Lol!”

Ralph was brilliant in Rising Damp.

Karl Howman -replace him with Timothy Spall
Jake Wood - replace him with Damian Lewis
Perry Fenwick - replace him with Gary Oldman
Danny Dyer - Charlie Creed-Miles
Matt Danglyo - Toby Kebbel
Shane Richie - Ralph Fiennes
Charlie Cotton - replace him with Paddy Considine

God, imagine how great EastEnders would be if they cast proper actors.”

What an insult, the cast of EE are all proper actors !

I did laugh at the idea of Ralph Fiennes playing Alfie Moon though so I take it your post isn't serious.

How about Pamela Anderson as Roxy Mitchell
Warwick Davies cross dressing as Donna
Morgan Freeman as Patrick

I have said it before and I will say it again

Charlotte Rampling would of been a much better Sylvie. I think she looks and come across as if she would be Shirley's mother and Aunt Babe's sister.

She's a bit too classy though

Warwick Davis as the Philth.

Just to give TPTB cold sweats as they desperately thought up storylines were he was able to 'own' 6ft 8 inch psychopathic gangsters and other assorted hardmen.

After all the character cannot become any more ludicrous than he already is.

I think the OP IS being serious you know, but Ralph Fiennes as Alfie Moon?

He played a killer in Red Dragon, the prequel to Silence Of The Lambs!

I don't think these actors are 'proper' any more than soap actors are, more serious probably but not 'proper'!

You don't need a proper actor to replace the cringeworthy Maddy Hill. A mannequin would do a better job.

Can you imagine Ralph Fiennes's dialogue though if he was cast as Alfie Moon?

She is and that is what would be so great about Sylvie if Charlotte played her. She would be the total opposite of her family. Well spoken, rather classy and wouldn't look out-of-place in an episode of Downton Abbey. But through time, we would eventually see that she is "all fur coat and no knickers" as they say.

What a very strange thread.

There are film actors, soap actors, theatre actors, Shakespearean actors, musical actors and others. Which of those are "proper" actors?

Next time I go to the doctor I'll have to ask him if he's a "proper" doctor, whatever "proper" means. There are GPs, gynaecologists, oncologists, surgeons, and loads of others. Which if those are proper doctors?

What about teachers? Primary school teacher, secondary school teacher, maths teacher, English teacher, university professor and loads more. Which of those is a "proper teacher"?

When he delivers my post today, I'll have to ask the postman if he's a "proper" postman.

Not only a strange thread, but I think it's insulting to actors who choose to be in soaps.

Patrick Stewart as Phil...Make it so, or Alan Ford's Brick Top
Wouldn't mind seeing Jason Statham as Max though...cor!
I think Vinnie Jones would fit well in to Eastenders as well and Ray Winstone.

Well we've got Sly Stalone advertising bread and Arnie with the blooming Meerkats so anything's possible I suppose

Shirley - Worzel Gummidge

Buster - A balloon

Actors who choose to be in soaps surrender their rights to be insulted.

It's a soap opera, not Shakespeare.

Diane Parish trained at RADA, you don't get much more 'proper' than that.

There will always be weak links in a cast of EE's size.

Charlotte is wonderful, I kind of think Sylvie would be beneath her. Very disappointing character so far.
