Lindsey is a great actress but I don't like Carol she's always miserable the way she treated poor David after his heart attack sealed the deal for me although I have to admit I did enjoy her scenes with Billy the other week.

I don't like her per se but I like the square having a miserable character, there has been a void since misery guts Pauline popped her clogs.

Lindsey does a great job with heavier subject matter too so I think we need Carol around. She has the most future-matriarch potential I think as opposed to these old women they parachute in like Cora and now Claudette.

Yeah she was awful to David.

I think that's what put me of Carol completely

Carol is slowly morphing into Pauline and I'm not surprised either, the poor woman has had hell of a life

Carol is brilliant and Lindsey Coulson plays hee well.

I love Carol. Wish they'd give her better storylines. Maybe some luck for a change.

Carol is a face ache but she is a good character and Lindsey Coulson is a brilliant actress, very underrated like a few on there, she was fantastic in her breast cancer s/l, I wish they give her more to do, I was hoping their bring the vicar back.

Maybe they'll bring it up again when they kill her off and need an excuse for former cast members not to come back for the funeral.

Yeah, I agree with this. Lindsey's amazing but the character is not an easy character to like. She was a pretty terrible mother, she was awful to David, she has a martyr complex a mile long, she seems to enjoy nothing more than bringing people down - she's really not a pleasant person, but she's realistic and played wonderfully. Everyone knows one of those bitter people who enjoy sucking the joy out of your day.

I really would like to see her have a happy storyline in the future, just to see if there is a way of making her a bit more likeable.

I like Carol. Yes she is a bit of a misery but she is 1 of the most normal characters. Lindsey Coulson is brilliant too.

I agree. She's miserable in a 'normal' and believable way without overdramatics. Basically if i'd had 4 kids by 4 different men by age 30, all but one of whom had disappeared with no family support (which she didn't have in the original backstory) so having to work every hour that god sent just to keep their head above water and then am having to repeat it with my grandchildren, I'd be miserable too! That's not even getting to having a Fiancee have an affair with your daughter, have a son die, Cancer....

At least she doesn't tend to deflect her misery outwards. Other than advising Bianca to dump Ricky which was so obviously a reaction to David leaving she doesn't take it out on other people unlike certain other characters I could mention.

Only as awful as he was to her. He lied and broke her heart for decades. His schemes, his bed hopping, his absence as a father and his continuous lies and false hopes. Carol was protecting herself from more heartache.
