Me too, it's vile. It really angers me how so many people are like oh don't be silly it's only a song, you're just being humourless. Ffs. My mother and Tom's mum and sister all love it.
Okay yes its only a song but music is influential! So making a 'catchy' pop song with easy to remember lyrics (I have heard kids sing it!) about something like that is not the best idea!
Ill admit ive hummed along to it and even probably sung it (it used to come on the radio twice a day in the cafe i worked in when it came out) but when you take away it being catchy, and actually think what its all about, its wrong!
My mum loved it too haha!

I was quite little but I used to love calling for Spike! You should steal them ,I love Moz and Hermione (haha i hope these are the names of your cats and ive not got all muddled up!) they sound super cute.
Thank you it was heartbreaking , Angel was devestated you could see the sadness in his eyes, bless! But at least we had them at all, they were great cats
Aww bless mini Chase.
We've got a subsequent cat name list already but I'll add them onto it.
Yeah that's right, they are. I'm glad you like them.
Aww poor little thing. It must have been terrible for all of you. Exactly, that's what I used to tell myself all the time when my last cat died. I was distraught but grateful for the 18 years we spent together and the lovely life she had.

Haha that sprung into my head when I read it too! Plus it didnt succeed in squishing Joe like a bug, so they cant fail twice. Can they?
I was thinking more on the lines of Freddie is walking along & an out of control wreaking ball swings right at him, he goes flying in the air & hits a wall. A couple of seconds later the wreaking ball follows & finishes him off squishing him with the wall, so there's bit's of wall mixed with bits of Freddie!!!

*high five*

Obviously the rape attempt is deeply problematic but I found it utterly implausible and kind of deny it happening in my head canon. Not because it's inconvenient, I just don't buy that he would ever, ever have done it.
*High Fives back*

Same here!!! I think the same!!

Haha I have a niece and they all call her that! I think its cos she is naughty and crazy like her loony Aunty 'Chase the cuckoo Bazuka' (did I get my name right Madness? Haha)

I have cat names picked out for when I get a clowder of my own but I like soo many names! How bigs your list?

They sound lovely, I just want to pet them

Yeah thats the only bad thing about cats, that we tend to outlive them
People dont understand losing a pet really is losing a member of the family!

I didn't know that!!! Thanks for telling me!!!
No probs.
It's hard to get reliable information on who does and doesn't test on animals, there's a lot of conflicting stuff out there and some brands refuse to give a straight answer. You can find 50 people on t'internet claiming a given brand are cruelty free and 50 people claiming they're not, so it's a bit of minefield. Mac definitely are on the bad side, though, as are L'Oreal, Revlon, Clinique, Estee Lauder and Maybelline.

Absolutely. These things aren't harmless. A lyric saying things like that does contribute to rape culture.
Oh it's undoubtedly a very catchy song, I like the sound of it, but that's secondary to the potential danger of it. There are lots of songs that sound good that don't have damaging messages.

I've read a lot of people say that it's important because it reminds us he's still a monster and that... Hmmm... Well he was never a rapist, so... I don't think his monster-hood was lost at any point, it was never dropped as a theme that he was dangerous even when he had the chip. He loved Buffy and chose to be good without his soul, he wasn't just a monster. He wanted to be good. And the chip didn't make him want to be a good man, all it did was physically prevent him from causing harm.

I haven't but it's a good read. I detest that song and it still baffles me how such a horrible song promoting rape is okay was so popular.
Utterly appalling subject for a "pop" song - Thicke by name, Thicke by nature, I suppose

Heh, aww.

Ace. Mine's not that long, it's 4. Anya, also from Buffy obviously, Mr Darcy, Olga and Frieda, the latter two after a character and actress from Holby City who Tom and I like.

They're a handful at times but they are lovely.

True. Well, pets generally. Sometimes I wonder why we have them when we know we're going to lose them and it'll be hell. But they enrich your life so much, the time you spend with them is so precious... If you never have anything you'd be scared to lose then you'd never really live at all.
It really is. Quite honestly I've lost a fair amount of people, and I'm not saying I wasn't devastated, but no one's death crushed me so much as my cat's.

The song 'pumped up kicks' bugs me too. Again a catchy song, you can whistle along, and it does get stuck in your head.
But its about a disturbed kid who has a dysfunctional relationship with his dad so goes on a rampage with a gun (i think hints that he shoots his dad then the lyrics all the other kids, with the pumped up kicks, you better run, better run, faster than my bullets' or wtte). Okay I know most people dont hear it then go grab a gun, but the tone of the song against its lyrics, I dunno it just bugs me!
Worst thing is I actually end up with it in my head and I find myself singing along! I'll not deny that it is a good song, but I dont like what its about
Just in case anyone wants it stuck in their head too! Haha

Wonky I wondered were you had got too!
Erm were to start!
Madness came up with 9 fab ways to kill Freddie- including getting Lindsey to turn to canablism and a big wrecking ball squashing him into mini chunks of Freddie
Me, Chewy, Daffy, and Vampy got into a Buffy discussion there was a 50/50 split on Spike!
We got all fashionista , and turned it into how we all prefer trainers to wobbling on high heels, and nothing beats a nice comfy pair of jeans.
We are now ranting about the music industry being shameful (its just not like it used to be )
Andddd breathe! Phew I think thats you about caught up

Aw I miss Frieda, I miss so many characters! All the good ones go
Love those names , purrrfect for cats

To be fair I think pets have it right, they so know how to get round us and live the life of luxury! And we fall for it cos we love them and their cuteness

Yea aw I know an elderly person who doesnt want any more pets now because she says either she'll die first and there'll be no one to look after it, or they'll die first and she doesnt think she could cope going through it now

Absolutely, pets are the ones we turn to for comfort. We look after them every day, laugh at them being silly, confide in them when we want a hug. You invest so much into an animal, so to lose them it can really turn your life upside down! They are worth every bit of pain and happiness though

Lovely, thanks Chase! Looks like a lot to catch up with then! Don't start me off with the music industry though. I can rant for ages about that
But I do agree that Lindsey should turn to cannibalism, any way to get rid of Freddie!

EDIT: also I miss Frieda too, she was superb. Olga was brilliant, loved her in Skins.

No problemo
Im not really into music thats about these days, couldnt tell you what was in the top40! (well I'll admit I did quite like Uptown Funk) so yes lets not start ranting and raving!
It was also suggested that Kim should then eat Lindsey, seems fair to me

Frieda was cool! And who have we got left? Guy self ,Rics barely in it anymore , and I want Spence back from the America! *heres me talking holby on the oaks thread*

Not that it's especially good at the moment, but yeah. Frieda's my favourite character in it ever, she was so, so awesome. Her exit was so underwhelming though, she deserved so much better.

Heh, absolutely.

Aww. Well of course it's understandable if she's had and lost a lot of them over the course of her life.

Exactly, in that respect they're closer to you than friends or anyone you don't live with, really. And they offer a comfort that other people can't. Animals can't judge, turn on or reject you, or any number of shitty things people do.

With the number scenes they have in the hospital these days, maybe they should change the name to "Holbyoaks"!!

Yea I cant even remember what her exit was

Yea she had a lovely well tempered dog a few years ago, lived to a good old age! Theres a park on her street so she still goes on walks and pets other dogs, bless.

Yea, I'd be screwed if my dog started talking, she knows too much
Im betting your cats are the same
