Google launches Project Fi mobile phone network (US)
It'll probably never make its way over here, but I like the idea. Pay for data, refunds if you don't use it, and the same price in 120 countries.

It's an interesting concept. I would quite like the mobile networks over here to either introduce a data rollover or refunds, of course our prices are generally lower than theirs anyway. It also includes the T-Mobile style free roaming in many countries at 256kbps (low 3g or good edge speeds).
Once the networks catch up in speed and coverage I think that the networks may start thinking about using these to difference themselves, like o2 priority or Vodafone Red freebies now. |

paying for what you use will cost more per gig of data tho, as part of the reason for the existing prices is telcos know customers wont use their full allowance and as such it affects pricing.

Think the biggest feature is seamless switching between two networks.
