When i was 5 i was chasing my sister through the field at the back of my parents house. It had very long grass and i stood on a beehive.

Hundreds of bees flew out of the hive and stung me all over. My head swelled that much that i had to get my t-shirt cut off me as it wouldn't go over my head.

Traumatic story i know sorry to bring the humour of the thread down a bit

Obviously i'm ok, i'm 30 now and still run when i see a bee or wasp.

Anyway back to the point i was trying to make. They could have Sienna running through that wood in hollyoaks that everyone seems to go to, and have something similar to happen to her where she steps on a beehive, or have one fall on her.

It's not that far fetched as it happened to me back in 1989, although i'm not allergic to bees

Brilliant!

i think this could be the end of the line for the Blakes. Patrick will eventually die from MND and Sienna's allergy will kill her directly or possibly hospitalized and die at the hand of the gloved one.

Lets hope Nico is packed off to an orphanage. Girl can't act for toffee!

There's no way we will see Patrick eventually die from MND. Hollyoaks are not going to bother to follow him through such a cruel, degenerative disease over the next couple of years or more. He will kill either himself, be murdered by the Gloved Hand killer or, more likely, ask his carer, Theresa, who can't even take care of her own children, to finish him off. She has killed before, after all.

Ah ok thanks, apologies I hadn't realised that death from MND was like that. Its not something I know much about. I hope to God we don't have Theresa killing him and rinse repeat of Ste's storyline where he killed his mother!

I agree. There's no way a soap would adequately show the slow progression of such a disease, least of all Hollyoaks. It's not a soap-y, "dramatic" enough condition (although the reality of it is indeed very dramatic.) While I think it's good that they're showing a health condition other than the overly relied-upon cancer/heart conditions, I don't think MND was a very good choice. Certainly not if the focus is on how soon it will kill him rather than the whole story.
For the last year of her life my fiance's grandma (who died of MND) couldn't move or speak at all; not really the kind of thing that lends itself well to being portrayed in soaps.
