We all have good and bad in us. That's why he has to be careful and why he has friends round him. They act like a kite string keeping him grounded and on the good side.

Agreed. I like how the writers always have the Doctor turn to his dark side when he's without a companion or been travelling without one for a while.

I don't. It's boring.

That "he needs a companion" was nice with Nine and Ten cos it worked - they were still heavily grieving over the War, etc. But now, pfft, get a grip man. Four didn't turn to a 'dark side' when he went a story sans companion!

Twelve always comes across to me as a bit of a big kid when he's round Clara's flat, trying to persuade her to come with him on another adventure. "Oh, please, Clara. Please come and play. It'll be great fun".

This includes when he picked her up again at the end of Last Chistmas.

That was only one story. If there'd have been more solo stories, I bet he would have gone dark.

I believe this is known as 'missing the point'.

You might want to try a bit harder because that was woeful.

I knew I'd get that response when I posted it. Forgive me, I forgot posting on Digital Spy is tantamount to writing ones dissertation.

That is what The Doctor hopes but what happens when his friends are sometimes busy? Does The Doctor find his own way or do his friends go looking for The Doctor?

He just has to try and keep out of trouble until the next adventure. Sometimes though the trouble finds him !.

Often it's the TARDIS to blame because she takes him where he needs to go. See THE DOCTOR'S WIFE.
