I don't think so - Shirley's too much of a loose cannon and she hates Ben, Phil couldn't afford to have her blurt out / gob off to Ben about how his mother isn't really dead.

Unless she somehow inadvertently saw Phil and Kathy together, and Phil doesn't know.

It confused me too. We don't know where Shirley was that night, we saw her walk away and Nancy indicate that she was in the Vic but she wasn't in there the whole time so her whereabouts for some of that night are unknown.

I initially thought it was about Max but It may be that she does know something, which would be intriguing, but then again it could just be the way it was written. Shirley told Mick, she could get the rest for the Vic, surely just knowing about Max isn't worth 10k to Phil plus maybe more? And why would she pinpoint that one night when Phil's revenge on Max started after?

It was all a bit confusing.

Max and Phil's feud technically started before Ian and Jane's wedding. Knowing DTC Shirley will know about Kathy and have a big role to play in her return.

I don't think Shirley knows about Kathy. If she did, she would have blurted it out to Sharon. I think It's something to do with Max.

Shirley's middle name is Gavin.

I'm trying to figure out where Phil was aside from with Kathy that would be to do with Max. I wouldn't mind Shirley knowing, if it got one up on King Phil!
