How similar the sexual attack plots, someone attacks someone gets off then has to finaly admit the did do it ,oh I wish soaps didnt copy each other at the same time.

I thought the EE one was done about 6 months ago? The ED one was only done a few weeks ago.

The ED one is a little more bearable because it hasn't been force fed to us, and it's actually moving forward. I also like Lachlan more than Dean, because there was actually a backstory to why Lachlan did it whereas with Dean it just happened, we don't actually know why he did it, so I was able to understand Lachlan.

There are only a certain number of stories can be told (with a few variations) so it is inevitable that soaps will have similar stories at some point in time!
The EE one and ED were totally different anyway! What's the fuss about?

Well rape/sexual assault have featured many times in soaps, it's not like something more unusual that could potentially have been copied.
There were also a fair amount of differences; one was rape and one was sexual assault, one was within a family and one not, one was two adults and one a child on an adult, one reported immediately and one not.

The difference is, Dean will likely get his comeuppance, whereas Lachlan has just got a slap on the wrist. At least Eastenders is going to make Dean pay for what he has done, rather than Emmerdale. I like both soaps, but Emmerdale have made a mistake letting Lachlan get away with sexual assault.

I just thought that as EE had an attack where at first Dean denied he had done it and soon will admit to Linda his mistake, then why would ED do the same with Lucky eventually admitting what he made a mistake ,I just think they could of tried not to follow on a similar (not exactly the same) attack so soon after EE , just my opinion thought ,either attack is still traumatic for each of the women.

Neither are a patch on the corrie rape storyline a few years ago. that was written brilliantly from start to finish and the acting was spot on

Eh? Haven't watched the EE one so can't comment but the acting in ED from everyone involved has been nothing short of outstanding. Natalie Anderson has been superb and the young actor playing Lochlan has done a terrific job too.

Story lines are worked out months in advance so I don't think that it would have crossed ED's producers' minds for one minute that they would be "copying" EE. Also a lot of people only watch one of them, not both.
