Was it announced before tonight's episode that the episode would focusing on the different and complex relationships of the sisters on the square?

Denise and Kim
Ronnie and Roxy
Tina and Shirley
Babe and Sylvie

Yes Sister Act.

Sylvie & Babe by far the best. The show has some fab older Actresses right now.

I loved it.

I thought it was great focusing on the sisterly relationships/bonds.

Loved the Denise/Kim, Shirley/Tina and Babe/Sylvie scenes the most.

EastEnders occasionally have themes for episodes. Loved tonight's.

I didn't see anyone on here mention it either, though?

It took me a while to catch on but I actually loved it as a theme and I think all involved did a great job. It was a superb episode!

Love Babe and Sylvie!

Denise should've told Kim about that mortgage arrears letter. If they're struggling for money, Dee was unwise to quit her job at the Vic. Now it's come back to haunt her, with virtually no stream of income to the house.

Agreed. If they lose the B&B where will they all live and more importantly who on earth will buy it??

I thought they were great.

I'm
Glad we got some backstory as to why slyvie was cruel to Shirley (clearly she too was abused herself) and learnt more about them like babes friendship
With heathers mum.

I like how Tina feels like she doesn't fit and wants the whole
Family back and how she really wants Shirley to sort things out and be there for her.

The foxes are one positive thing Dtc has done as before I found both boring, unfunny and pointless but they have improved alot (this includes Patrick). They've become interesting and Kim has really improved with her new attitude.

Ronnie and Roxy was meh because of the storyline but I love the actress' chemistry and they feel like actual sisters.

I thought that the whole episode was beautifully written and excellently portrayed by all involved.

I agree with others who see the genuine chemistry between Ronnie and Roxy. They do seem like real sisters, and it's totally believable that with Vincent on the scene and her current situation, Ronnie would forgive her sister. I'm glad it wasn't stupidly drawn out.

If it comes to buying it out, then I think Vincent will.

Imo Grant/Phil, Ronnie Roxy are the best EE sibling duos both casting wise as well as portrayal and storylining. but I think all the sistren offered tons of emotion and gripping material , particularly the history shared with Sylvie and Babe. You can't just beat the depths older characters can reach because there's just so much emotion, so much backstory.

half way through I connected the dots and the episode just shows how good DTC, Alex and Co are great storyliners bringing all stories to a point where a variety of sisterhood could be explored before they continue again from totally different angles Monday onwards . tonight and the near four hander Kim, Shirley, Linda, Kat as well as all ee lives are the best 2015 has seen so far.

I always had faith that Babe and Sylvies relationship would be very complex and interesting to watch, which Is why I was always slightly hesitant about getting rid of the Carters for hogging all the limelight. Some viewers are so sick and tired of the family that they would gladly see the back of Babe and Sylvie purely because they are related to the Carters. I understand their frustration but getting rid of such characters would be a huge mistake IMO

Reading this thread has just made me realise that Mick and Dean are the only brothers currently on the square (apart from Tommy and the twins) which is quite low compared to the sisters

Wow that's interesting we could do with brothers to balance things out.
