iPhone unlock problem - anyone else experience this?
Hi guys,
I currently have the iPhone 5s 16GB (running iOS 8.3) and iPhone 6 Plus 64GB (running iOS 8.2) and have noticed that if both phones haven't been used for over 15 minutes when I unlock them using the fingerprint sensor the signal, network and battery text at the top of the screens flashes, changes text size and jumps about like it's trying to catch up to where its meant to be. If I unlock them using my passcode this doesn't happen like. At first I thought it was my 5s giving up but with it being on my 6 Plus aswell I just wondeed if anyone else exeriences this. Thanks |

Yeah, it seems to be a bug in 8.3.
The status bar text is slightly bigger on the lock screen than on the home screen. This is normal. The problem is that sometimes, when you unlock the phone, the home screen displays the status bar text as the correct size, then it briefly and incorrectly changes to the lock screen size, then back to the correct home screen size. The whole thing is very quick and is, effectively, a very minor UI glitch, but it's annoying all the same. |

Oh, I've just noticed that the OP is experiencing it on 8.2 as well. With my iPhone 6, I definitely didn't experience it before updating to 8.3.

I've got to say, I think iOS 8 is still pretty glitchy considering we're on 8.3 now. They still haven't fixed the issue of sometimes getting a brief black screen when opening apps (seems to do this a lot with Messages), and there are various other bits.
In fact, I've seen an annoying new bug in 8.3 with the Messages app. If you scroll up, it usually loads previous messages automatically so that, barring the brief wait time as they load, it's continuous scrolling. Now I find that if I scroll up an iMessage conversation, it will for some reason show the most recent text messages in that thread, even if they were from a long time ago, before loading the correct and most recent iMessages. |

On a whole the 6 Plus seems to be a very buggy and laggy device. Scrolling through Facebook and Safari is annoying as it does freeze a bit. |

Hadn't noticed this before but just looked at my iPhone 6 running 8.3 and while the lock screen does appear to be a non-iPhone 6 enhanced resolution, it simply immediately switches back to the "correct" size as soon as it is unlocked, which is pretty much instantaneous for me. I had to press the Touch ID with the wrong finger to bring up the lock screen before I really noticed it as usually it has unlocked almost as soon as the screen wakes up so I am lucky to get a fraction of a second of the lock screen. Certainly not getting any "jumping about" simply the status bar being a non-enhanced size to begin with and then immediately shrinking down to the "correct" size.
I'm sure it will be corrected in due course but it is hardly noticeable for me so hardly something Apple will be particularly concerned with. |
