Eastenders boss hints at cast exits

Part of me wants to continue giving DTC a chance, as he can deliver.

However, part of me stands by what I said a few weeks ago, he needs to go.

He has absolutely no idea what to do with half of the cast. He'll throw issue based storylines at whatever character he feels like and then they'll descend into the background for weeks, whilst he introduced another poorly developed newbie, who doesn't really add anything to the show. Les, Pam, Donna, etc... Have pretty much done nothing since they arrived on the Square. I like Donna, but what makes these characters superior to Alice, Joey, Kirsty & AJ? Why should we look at these characters and think they're superior to the Kirkwood/Newman deadwood? IMO, they're just as bad and don't being anything to EastEnders, other than a few lines on the market (Maybe they'd work as recurring characters?). I'm sick and tired of all these new faces, who do nothing!

Big names don't interest me at all. I couldn't care less if DVO or Bonnie Langford were on the show. Who does care? Please tells who cares!.

Kat & Alfie will be a huge loss to the show. They are iconic and legends, wether you like them or not. So, I hope they do return after their break. I don't think Lindsey Coulson will leave. Idc if characters like Lola, Charlie, etc... Leave however. They add nothing to the show these days IMO.

That list is probably fairly accurate but what a disappointment it would be. The only one I wouldn't mind is Les. I love Charlie Lola Jay and Whitney - they just need storylines. Not pushing out.

I think DTC wants newer viewers who will tune in for big names.”

Lee is a Carter and no Carters will be axed.

For me;

Jo Joyner
Nina Wadia
Charlie Brooks

Must return.

Kat & Alfie's break will leave a hole in the show, and if another big name leaves (I SO hope that this doesn't happen), it will also leave a hole in the show. Either way, these 3 ladies all play hugely popular characters, and would continue to breathe life into the cast. I'd rather we got some decent returns, rather than endless new characters, who go absolutely nowhere. It's bad enough DTC doesn't know what to do with the long serving characters, never mind newbies, who we don't care about as much.

It seems like DTC wants West End Stars- DVO, Bonnie Langford and Maria F who plays Elaine!

If ever there was a character who could do with the axe.

If Dexter is axed, why should Lee stay? What does Lee do, that gives him any relevance?

Lol, all he ever does is make some sort of angry comment about Dean, and talk to his sister. Utterly pointless character.

I absolutely HATE the idea of the lesser used cast going. There is so much potential there. I would have thought he would be looking to develop or give more time to Denise/Jay/Lola/Whitney/Liam/Lee/Donna/Kush.

I think the carters need toning down.

I'd be looking at losing some of the bigger charaters who in my opinion have had their time.

Phil. Jane. Massood. Max. Ronnie. Roxy. Ben. Abi. Patrick. Come to think of them a lot of characters seem rather flat or ruined.

Oh Gawd, that means Christopher Biggins is coming in as Buster's secret son!

If I was DTC I would let the following go-

Mo - crap actress and awful character.

Les- has not done that much

Roxy- An ever decreasing circle.

Tamwar- dull

Lee- dull

I would prefer a drastic trimming of the Carters, make half of them recurring or spun off into their own CartEnders bubble like that funny thread on Walford Web.

Denise Van Outen has been dire. She's not the right fit for soap. Jake Wood has been asking for her back but I'm sick of Max and his women. This may be controversial but I hope Max is heading for the exit door. Cora can be the new head of the Brannings.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fatboy was on his way out. Ricky is never given anything of note.

Shona Mc Garty/Whitney is another one for the chop. She's a spare part these days.

Dean and Babe have shelf lives. I don't think Les will last much longer either.

Lola is being treated like an extra and Charlie is a dead man walking.

He could have had so much potential as a soldier. Unfortunately he's a spare part and hasn't been given anything to do.

And Donny Osmond will be playing Mark Fowler jr.

He might as well go the whole hog and turn the show into a musical/panto.

Good Post.

Cora will be back to expose Babe's lies. Van Outen has been a disappointment.

Maria F, becoming a regular would be nothing, other than a disaster.

Do the people running this show, not realise that this tired, tedious rabble, already have enough members, without introducing the foghorn of all foghorns, as a full time character?.

I don't think Lindsey Coulson will leave.

Lindsey obviously chose to stay for a reason. Surely, she would have left by now, with Bianca and David both gone, if she wanted to go herself?

I hope I am right and that Carol is not leaving.

The current production team have talent, there have been several really good episodes but they are still stuck in repetitive cliches and they can do so much better. That's what's frustrating about EE. I really think they need to cull an episode.

I agree with you on DVO and Max. That whole plot was pitiful and she felt like she'd just walked in off the Big Breakfast.

Not sure what to make of this but I suspect it means the exit door for Dean,Lola, Charlie and maybe Ronnie if she kills Charlie?

Kat and Alfie seem pretty obvious. My big fear is Lindsey Coulson

Something about this way of going forward isn't giving me a good confident feeling.

I wouldn't miss any of these, other than Jay. So, if they are axed to make way for new faces, I can't say I mind (Even if it is for pointless celebrity castings). It's the big names who they don't want to get rid of, but it looks like they're safe, judging by the article.
