I personally would accept Fatboy, Abi, Max, Babe, Dean and Buster, would be criminal to let Lola, Whitney or Jay go, I enjoy Les and Pam's comedy scenes, I wish there was more of them, plus I like characters like Kush, Donna and Pam, it's giving us an insight into characters who would have been background...

Someone would think that you don't like Roxy and Mo, I must've seen about 20 posts this week asking for them to be axed by you including about 10 in this thread alone

My sentiments exactly. Jake Wood is also one of the big earners not to mention his Strictly fee and Geicko commercials.

Jo has said she's no plans to return and she has had no trouble finding work post EE.

It's not over yet. I have a feeling that she auditioned for Linda Carter and didn't get the part. Yes when she appears it takes me out of the moment and I remember what I'm watching is being performed.

Oh I agree. I am hoping DVO doesn't become a regular, I had enough of her already!

I think Dean will be going soon, maybe Charlie (but I hope not) and this may be a hint that Karl Howman is only temporary as Buster (but again, I hope that's not true either). I don't want the latter two above or Di Parish, Linda Henry and Nitin Ganatra to be facing the axe, or to have chosen to leave, but everyone I like seems to go! I have a feeling June Brown may take back break soon.

I dislike having 'celebrity' faces appear who aren't proper actors in a soap because I can't really invest in the character, like DVO - I don't see Karin, I see DVO whereas with Tim West, you could really believe in Stan. Like said above, it really takes the joy out of watching because you are overly aware that it is a performance rather than being able to get involved in what's going on, hence why I hope DVO doesn't stay...

I'd love to see Jack Ellis appear and Craig Fairbrass return. But I don't like the idea of DTC pushing out the cast for 'big' names. Most of the BBC budget is probably limited because it's all paid out to Danny Dyer...

Exactly. Sounds like something Kirkwood would do and you can't sink lower than that.

Clear the lot out - Lola, Whitney, Fatboy. Shirley could play these roles

"Ladies and Gentleman...its the Shirley Carter show..."

The article is rubbish. Just scroll to the last paragraph:

Quote:
“An EastEnders spokesman said last night: 'There are no current plans for Denise Van Outen to return, nor are any of the cast facing the axe in order for other celebrities to appear.'”

Ditto. If certain characters are leaving & Denise/Bonnie are bought to the fore Im off!!

Danny boy Hatchard had his contract renewed and he STILL isn't doing anything! (So far at least!) ironically he is safe for most of this year, whereas actors who do more are in danger at this point! Where's the logic in that?
Give Lee some sl's or get rid! Stop standing round like an extra.

A BBC spokesperson has also denied it and I really don't think we'll be seeing DVO again as Twitter was not kind at all about her brief appearances so far.

It says at the bottom of the article an EE spokesperson has said there's no truth in it

I'm a bit worried about the idea of well known actors coming into EE because they bring baggage with them and will disappear at the sniff of a film.

I wasn't impressed with Denise Van Outen the other day. Any attractive blonde could have played that part.

This. The only reason why I think this hasn't happened is the possibility of controversy.
I'm still waiting for the Death In Action sl, or even an injury sl-but perhaps the producers are nervous of this.
I keep hearing that DBH is a good actor-can we have the opportunity to see it please??

Clearly they didn't read that bit or they wouldn't be moaning. I missed that line.

To be fair, the DTC quotes don't mention the word "axe" and it's categorically denied at the end of the article. It smells like a tabloid whipping up a shitstorm again to me. The people leaving may be doing so willingly and you never know, they may even include the likes of Les and Lee (personally I'd rather see the back of Pam unless she stops getting right in people's faces when she talks to them).

I can't abide DVO and hope to goodness she doesn't become a fixture. Her EE stint has been atrocious. I'd like to meet these fans she's gone down so well with and find out what they're on.

I'm not a fan of Bonnie Langford either but I'll reserve judgement until she's appeared on screen.

As for the other "big names", Tim West is the only one I'd ever heard of prior to EE. I still have no clue what Danny Dyer and Richard Blackwood did before.

A lesson on the importance of reading every detail then.

Besides, are we really still taking everything in the tabloids as gospel in 2015? Sure they get it right once in a while but come on...

Need to focus on utilising the current cast before looking for 'celeb names'. Far too many good actors and good characters not getting any decent storylines at the moment.

I fear Whitney is in real danger if being axed.

I agree. If Lindsey does go then it's safe to say its her own decision, as Carol was supposed to leave in January 2014 until DTC persuaded LC to stay

I think the actors leaving in the next few months will leave on their own accord. Really hope Lindsey Coulson and Diane Parish aren't leaving but they have been criminally underused
