I too feel that he has been used as a plot device for Vincent. I find it odd that people think Ronnie should now get revenge for his one act of adultery which took place at a time when he was under extreme stress. Even odder that her revenge should take the form of adultery with a married man who also has a young baby!
Charlie is basically a decent man who has made mistakes but does have a conscience. We have yet to find out whether the same can be said of Vincent but I suspect he may well be the opposite, i.e a basically bad person who has the odd moment of redemption. If both of them are around, it would be make good story for Ronnie who has her own internal battle between her dark and light side. I can just about believe that a lonely Charlie could have felt himself falling in love with Roxy who was his only real support. They just didn't show that story on screen which is what makes it so unsatisfactory. That also leaves the question of what they can do with Roxy. She needs a job not a man. If Roxy wasn't a Mitchell she would have probably gone ages ago. She needs a story that doesn't involve Ronnie or a man. Wonder if she does end up pregnant though. |

His sudden personality transplant for the storyline is what's ruined him. This story shouldnof never happened - same with the rape.

I like the Masoods but if there was a small number that had to be saved they wouldn't be on my list UNLESS Nina Wadia returned as Zainab.

Also I'd like to see Zainab, Carly and Dan Sullivan return, and Chrissie and Jake back to run the Vic. Plus a role for Jack Ellis.

AGreed and she looked, sounded and behaved like Kirsty and she only
Left just over a year ago. . And to think that DTC axed Kirsty because he thought she was a poor character (which she was to be fair), and yet he brings in a clone in the form of Denise Van Outen who acts the same as Kirsty and is just as terrible. I can't help but see that as pure arrogance. The man is in love with his own creations. Any character who was created by the last few producers is automatically deemed as a 'poor character' by DTC. his next move is shag
Spoiler
![]() . I mean there's nobody else for them to shag on the Square, so why not? I'm sure Kat will be keen to swap notes with Stacey . Honestly though, Max needs to have his penis muzzled and then sent off to a sex addiction clinic . That needs to be his exit storyline. Abi and Lauren need to stage an intervention .

I'm sure I read Nina is happy to return for a time ie a short stint.only. Could be rembering it wrong though.

I think Kat and Alfie have left permanently, I certainly can't see either returning under DTC.

Buster is boring and Sylvie is just so unlikable and that has nothing to do with the illness but the actress plays her so dull. Carly again no need for return. Jake and Chrissie have no reason to return either. Grant and Peggy as a return would work. The Mitchells are there and Kathy will be back soon. Dan Sullivan return would work very well however. |

Well a short return would be nice at least.
I do hope Kat and Alfie return someday. Shirley is such a bore. She's not the Icon DTC thinks she is. EastEnders can run well on the likes of Sharon,Phil,Ian ect Shirley can't prop the show up at all. i loved Shirley...... till her family came along !!
Once Heather died that should have been the end of Shirley too. Now she's in too many scenes and i just can't stand her. I do like Mick,Linda and Babe though and hope they will be around for many years just not in the Vic. |

James Forde has tweeted a few things recently that make me think that Liam could be on his way out.
James Forde @JamesForde96 · Apr 24 Absolutely honoured to have world with some of the people I have worked with. It's amazing and the future is exciting. @chrisguest54 it's an amazing feeling & yes theres is some to come but not everyone may be happy with how it ends! 😝 I can't say I'll be too surprised if he is leaving. Other than supporting Cindy he's barely appeared since Bianca left. |

Those tweets do sound like he could be moving on. Not a surprise though, surprised he just didn't leave with Bianca
If they are going to be bringing in new characters/families. Where will they live? We could well see some people leaving to free up space/houses |

Shirley worked well as a standard character. One who would pop up every now and again.

Whats concering me is, how low is the budget?
We play a TV licence ffs, surely BBC1's flagship show has a bigger budget? Something is not right. |

The show is probably lowest point in its history now with all this.
The only ones who I would suggest seem safe are Phil, Sharon, The Carters, Ian , Kathy, Max and Lauren when she returns and probably Stacey . Most of the new characters are just so bad |

I think safe is Phil, Sharon, Max, Kathy, Dot, The Carters (incl Queen Camel Toe), Lauren/Abi, Jane, Stacey and I'd throw in a Mitchell sister - Ronnie the most likely.
Keep the Masoods - some interesting character development going there and try and get Nina Wadia to reprise Zeynep again. I can't see Sylvie/Babe and Dean sticking as their storylines are closing. Charlie is another one going and I think Roxy will too. Sadly I think it will be curtains for Carol who I think NEEDS to stay as the dynamic with her and Max works. Liam, Whitney and Rebecca will go I reckon. |

There is no way Ronnie, Kat and Alfie will be axed. They are DTC's favourites.
