YouTube problem on iPad
I was having problems logging into a website I use, so cleared the cache. Since doing that I'm unable to use a tab to open YouTube in my browser, anything I do immediately takes me to the YT app.
I prefer to have it open in a tab so that it is easy for me to switch between that and the other half dozen tabs I have open, instead of going to the iPad main screen and then going to the app. I tried to delete the app (that I installed, it wasn't preloaded) and a message said I would lose all data, so abandoned that idea! I've tried typing in 'desktop or mobile YT' but everything I do just switches to the app. I've been able to use both - YT app and in the browser (and with only one sign in) - perfectly well until today. Anyone got any ideas please, about how to go back to using both? |

I notice that my post is getting views but not replies - I suspect I haven't made it clear enough (not being very tech-minded!)
All I want is to be able to get YT on the internet and not through the app. |

What version of iPad are you using? Youtube are retiring some older API's affecting some older Apple (and other) kit:

http://www.talkandroid.com/245882-re...o-youtube-app/ It's an iPad2. But it's not the app I'm having a problem with - it's on the internet that I'm can't connect to YT on.. |

Well, I have no idea how I did it, but I managed to get it back as I want.

If you have problems in the future, I believe that you can disable the YouTube app in the 'Restrictions' settings.

The built-in app in the older iOS versions is about to stop working anyway, due to changes Google are making to YouTube. |

All I want is to be able to get YT on the internet and not through the app. In real life, it'd be one of those situations where I suspect many people, me included, would be saying "show me" to you, in order to get a clearer idea. It's often difficult to put across the numerous idiosyncratic techie problems we experience, in writing. |
