Last night's show may not have been the best but it is pulling in the punters with almost 12 million viewers

I'm dumbfounded by this shows continuing success, I really am. Out of all of the big entertainment shows, and I include the X Factor in that, I think BGT is the most tired and stale.

I just don't get it?

I watch it because it's a variety show (I'm sick to death of televised singing auditions) - however it seems lately that Britain doesn't have talent, as the best acts are the ones invited on rather than being genuinely "discovered".

Yep i'm forced to watch (only one TV in the house) my other half loves it but even he seems to be getting bored of all the set ups and cliché's. We spent most of Saturday night saying "here we go again" or "I bet the 2nd choir is really good" or "here comes the sob story from the kid on piano"

I guess its a Saturday night moneymaker and a stable tv show and people will continue to watch even if they know its rubbish, its like a tradition

Whilst the viewing figurers are so good they are not likely to change the way the show is presented. It does seem with one or two exceptions that they like looking for acts that are likely to prove interesting for the tabloids rather than acts that have genuine talent.

It's good to see that Britain's Got Talent is still high up there when it comes to viewing figures. A lot of the acts are just "comedy acts", but a small number of the people auditioning have real talent.

You have summed it up pretty well really. A lot of viewers seem to like the bad acts as much as the good one's.

I agree that the majority like to see the 'bad acts'. Unlike myself, my family don't read forums online or look into any acts' background etc and just watch the show each weekend and they find the shows hilarious. It seems most casual viewers still enjoy watching because they aren't looking into the finer details and all the editing issues.

Actually, it's a very small number!

BGT is the only talent show which offers proper variety and great humour.
