Confirmed now that Claude Littner will take over from Nick m- a good choice

As much as he was good entertainment value as an interviewer I think he'll be better here. He has less scope to be rude and I'm sure he'll have similar kind of banter with LS and KB that Nick did.

I personally think he will go on to replace Sugar if not Bradley.

Hmm, I'm not really sure what to think.

I like Claude as an interviewer a lot - I think he is really honest and generally very fair, which is a good thing. I'm not sure whether him being an advisor will give us more of the same, or if it will detract from his value on the show. Personally I find Claude to be very genuine.

So who's going to replace Claude when it comes to the interview episode? For me CLAUDE is the star of the interview task. Gutted he won't be taking part in that task! He's what makes the show for that particular episode.

I feel as though Nick is likely to take over. Think about when Margaret left. Karren, the only woman on the interview panel, took over from her, and Margaret took Karren's place on the interview panel.

I hope Nick does a good job as an interviewer though. I hated Margaret's interviews. Maybe they cut certain bits out, but I don't recall her doing anything apart from reading quotes from people's CVs and pulling funny faces. I didn't see how her interview helped Lord Sugar make his mind up at all.

I'm not keen on Claude being new advisor. I think his job is the most frightening interviewer ever. He does it well. I think Mike would have been an alright advisor. Claude is surely the same age as Nick or near it and they have to run around chasing overly enthusiastic people in their twenties and thirties doing tasks.

Agreed on this. I'm actually quite disappointed. I was hoping that it would be Ricky. Claude won't suit the adviser role, IMO; he's too brash.

Thinking about it, I suppose I agree with you. Claude is quite brash, and it comes across well in the interviews, and I'm not so sure that it would as an advisor.

I hope that people don't see Claude as just 'the scary one' without looking beyond this. He's my favourite interviewer. I think that he doesn't take any rubbish from anyone which is a good thing, but to me the man is completely fair - more so than Lord Sugar is really. Lord Sugar goes on gut instinct a lot of the time, and I think Claude is a lot more driven by the evidence which is presented to him. If someone presents a rubbish business plan, he's completely frank about it. Also, although the producers use him for entertainment value, it is my belief that he doesn't play up to that - I think that his anger at the likes of Jordan and Solomon was completely genuine. Of course, that's just my personal opinion, but if I'm right he's one of the few you can say that about - Nick and Margaret were certainly playing up to the cameras in their later series, and even Lord Sugar does it a bit (I'm not sure about Karren). I think that although he takes no prisoners, Claude doesn't come across as unpleasant - he gives credit where it is due, as was really shown with Ricky in Series 8. I feel like if you were working with Claude and he respected you, he'd be really supportive of you and would always be on your side.

I feel like Claude is possibly too dominant to be an advisor - I'd like him to take over as the boss if Lord Sugar ever stepped down though, I think he'd be a really interesting new boss figure. Having said that, I'm very interested to see how he'll be as an advisor. I doubt he'll be as harsh as he is as an interviewer, because being an advisor he won't have to analyse the business plans in detail, which is where they normally trip up. Generally though, like you I would have preferred Ricky.

I do love Claude and I'm kinda happy he's Nick's replacement, but damn I am gonna miss him chewing people up and spitting them out in the interview episode!

Come to think of it, is there any reason that Claude can't remain an interviewer whilst being an advisor? He was so good at scrutinising the business plans. They haven't done this since Series 1, but there's no reason why they couldn't do it again.

I'd rather he remained an interviewer than had Nick take over. I love Nick, but purely for comedy purposes. If Nick was to remain involved, I'd rather that he take over from Dara as host of You're Fired!

I'd love it if Nick was a permanent guest on You're Fired. I've rarely found the "comedians" they bring in offer anything funnier than the mocking Dara can do on his own.

In the first series of You're Fired! they had a really interesting semi-permanent guest (wasn't on every week, but appeared three week in succession and made a special video about the candidates towards the end of the series) in Felicity Lee, a business psychologist, who would analyse the way that the candidates interacted with one another, and based on this who she felt was likely to go far. I'd like them to do that again, she was great.

I have to admit I don't remb much of the first series, except Chiles and wishing there was a better presenter. I like the idea of someone like that though appearing again, I know it's *fluff* but it's better than the guests all stanning over how great "person with no skills but funny as hell" is.

Too much of a good thing is bad - and seeing Claude each week as an advisor is just that - too much of a good thing.

As the candidates went through the tasks each week and became more and more arrogant with their claims, it was always in the back of your mind (well, mine anyway) that wait till you come across Claude at interview - he'll swallow you whole, throw you up and swallow you again!!!

Now he's confirmed to be an advisor, thhere will be no "big, bad wolf" to look forward to come interview stage.

Mike Soutar or Matthew Riley should have been given the advisor role instead.

I think he is a great choice . In the field sralan's aides are only there to observe , so Claude's acid tongue should be restricted to the board room and be minimal, considering his boss will be there doing 90% of the rabbiting . I only ever recall Nick butting in on a task a very few times. The most memorable being when the team got the weights way wrong when cooking up something and wasted shed loads of an expensive ingredient . Even then he just looked quizzical and drawled "are you sure it's gms/mgs/whatever ?" with one eyebrow raised. Which was enough of a clue that they were in trouble ,lol.
Besides ,there is NO reason why Claude can't continue to do the interviews anyway . His overseeing them in action will give him an advantage in homing in on their weaknesses I should think .

Hoping this is the shot in the arm the programme needs. Just hope the humourless Karen Brady doesn't hang around much longer.

Claude's my favourite of the interviewers, so I'm happy to have him replace Nick as an advisor. If Claude steps down as an interviewer, I'd like to see Margaret back or Nick doing interviews, but I suspect it'll be someone new.

Ricky settled in quite well, maybe they could have another former winner? Yasmina could be quite a good interviewer, I think... although maybe it's overkill to have two winners at once, and I wouldn't want to sacrifice Ricky.

What about Rachel Lowe? She's the creator of the Destination board game, and another something-from-nothing kind of person. She was on the first series of Dragons' Den pitching Destination, she was rejected by all of the Dragons, and on her own she made it really successful. She was on the You're Fired! panel for the board game task last year. As someone who has set up a business that has gone really massive, I'd say she'd be more than qualified to be an interviewer, plus she strikes me as a really genuinely lovely person.

I would have rathered someone lighter, some of the best bits are Nick's quips to the camera about how useless they are but they're done in a light hearted way, I don't want Claude's confrontation style from the interviews week in week out.
