EE: Is anyone else annoyed about Kat and Alfie's upcoming break/exit?

Perhaps the spin off is a quiz show set in Ireland were Irish members of the public try to win some euros and they have lottery draw at the end of it.

Then shane/alfie can remind the audience he has done this sort of thing before

This is it. Jessie Wallace is 43, Shane Ritchie is 50, it's a bit late for a complete re-write of their characters. Alfie is this pathetic loser who's never grown up, and they've turned Kat into a grotesque, drunken tramp. The writers went too far in my opinion and burnt their bridges as far as these two characters are concerned.
There again, in Soapland anything is possible I suppose.
