It's definitely Kat and Alfie and they are going on a break then they'll have a spin off then return in to main show in 2016

A Kat and Alfie spin off show? What?! Oh my god that sounds terrible. Who would watch that!? Jesus. I've heard it all now. A spin off show about Kat and Alfie??? Pahahahaha!

And I don't want them to win the lottery. Sounds like a crap storyline.

Eastenders has been piss poor recently.

It seems to be looking like the lottery winners will be Kat and Alfie but to my knowledge it isn't set in stone.

I will actually be very very pleased if it is them who win as I love them and I think they deserve some good luck after all that's happened to them and i'm also glad to see them reuniting as well.

And I for one will be watching their spin-off, so will their other fans, it will be great to catch up with them.

Yep, let's reward the selfish bint and the arsonist. What a great message to send out.

Breaking News: "Hundreds of people commit arson in hopes that they win £1m in a lottery draw six months later."

Who else thinks that by the time they return in 2016, they'll have lost all the money?

I would like to see Alfie win, the give the money to Kat and then hand himself in as the arsonist he is. The idea of him getting a happy ending makes me sick.

That'll mean that they'll be back where they started in 2010. Then the cycle continues.

I would actually prefer it if Carol was the one to win the lottery.

Why would DTC even think of giving Carol a decent storyline? What nonsense!

In all fairness, he didn't actually intend for the house to go up in flames, and he had no idea Kat was inside.

But at the same time, he could've killed Kat, he could've killed Dot next door, and he also couldve killed Peter and Johnny, who both ran in and risked their lives to save Kat

Hate to see Alfie win, Kat I dont mind so much, she is awful but she is Kat so can basically forgive coz she delivers drunk really well.

Wish they werent coming back next year, if they win lottery that should just be their permanent exit.

Well they say money can't buy you happiness.

Actually I wouldn't mind if they won the lottery it could be an interesting storyline.
Lottery wins are just chance and have nothing to do with whether people deserve it or not.

We can't assume that they will be living the life of luxury with no problems. Having a lot money can bring its own headaches. It would be a positive thing if they actually used the money to do some good rather than squandering it on luxury holidays and flash motors. It could rejuvenate them both as characters and Kat could open a refuge for victims of abuse

No, because they don't deserve it as characters. I remember DTC saying people won't mind who wins it because they deserve it. Kat and Alfie? Really!

Someone like Dot or Tamwar yes but not those two scumbags!

I don't mind them winning it and I think it would be interesting to see them in Walford with money and a business one day, I just think the timing is wrong. As Kat isn't keen on testifying against Harry, winning the lottery gives her a way out - because she won't need the compensation money to live.

I wonder if DTC knows that Danny and Kellie will leave EE next year and the long term plan is for Kat and Alfie to come back and own the Vic.

It will be Kat and Alfie but I would have loved it to have been Billy. And Is it just me or does this lottery win feel like a really half assed way of providing an exit for Kat and Alfie for their spin off show?

I am surprised that DTC cast Danny Dyer as Mick - you would think that for a character he would like to be prominent and longstanding - he would hae chosen a better actor and one that is more likely to stay on. Same with Karl Howman - I like him, he is a good actor but it seems odd to cast an actor to play a huge part in a long standing characters history who is unlikely to stay on long term. (even if I would hope he would).

What an awful idea to have a spin off show. They've tried it before (E20?) and it fails. Which channel will it be on? BBC3 hopefully, right before the channel gets axed.

DD has said he wants to stay long-term but I don't really believe him, I suppose he did draw in a lot of press for Eastenders when he joined and it's becoming apparent DTC likes the celebrity's

I don't especially believe that either. Or maybe I just don't want too. Either one.

Yeah, he did - but I think it is a shame that tptb cast Danny Dyer as Mick purely for his celebrity (I can see no other reason) to gain press and attention - I would have liked a better actor to play such an important character. I think DTC's celeb love is going to his head a bit with certain signings - most recently DVO - and it could be a huge downfall for the show, in my eyes - I would much rather watch lesser known actors, actors who don't live their lives in the public eye or unknown actors who I can invest in and believe in their characters rather than the cheap tactic of using celebs to gets butts in the seats and a ratings boost. If the stories and characterisation are good - DTC wouldn't need to use those tactics.
