The who's the father plots should be over on soaps now
Just watching Vanessa in tears on Emmerdale as she doesn't know who her baby daddy is. And then we have Linda Carter still worried about Dean being her baby daddy.
There are pre-natal DNA tests now - you can do it in the first 3 months, there are tests you can non invasively just as a blood test if you dont want to do an amnio (which as they are both over 35 yrs old you would think they would do). It's only a few hundred pounds..something a vet can easily afford. If you dont want to tell the other person then you get DNA via a toothbrush or their hairbrush etc. Why do we have to see these stupid storylines. |

Coming to Emmerdale this Christmas: Vanessa's Baby!
VetBaby pops out to be confronted by two dopey dipsticks. VetBaby is disgusted. VetBaby strangles both drips with it's umbilical cord. VetBaby, the youngest crim in Emmerdale history, is rewarded the freedom of t'dales and a personalised knuckle duster.Emmerdale love a criminal so I think this is could happen

ED: Older woman pregnant, whose baby is it? and who does the woman confide in?, her former lesbian partner.
CS: Older woman pregnant; whose baby is it? As ED and CS are now jointly produced by Blackburn and Oates, we may have the same man being father of both babies. And the psycho's, ED Emma or CS Jenny, may steal them. I think I am losing the plot. |

I do find it horrible how none of these characters never know the father. Really sleazy and disgraceful.

A bit impossible, too.
Or mo. One of the slater girls would have to return and do a shabnam and leave it on the doorstep and the mystery is which one did it and is returning. Only way a whose the mummy story would work. It's far fetched and highly unlikely but hey, it's soap land

Not that I'm saying that should happen, just an example. I'm not sure Natalie would fit with the timeline anyway since she was in the show in the mid 90's |

You know what women are like. They can't help sleeping with different men round about the same time.

I always find it funny when soaps independently decide on a storyline more than 6 months before it hits the screen ... yet two soaps turn out to have the same storyline at the same time!
As is the case with Vanessa in Emmerdale and Kim Tate as was in Corrie. Who's the father storylines, though ... surely the half a million times it's already been done is enough! And every pregnancy in a soap is an accident. They should come out with a really rare storyline - a planned baby! |
