What other 70s,80s or 90s cast should return to Corrie?
With Bill, Eileen and Barbara getting older and the dreadful passing of Anne Kirkbride - which other 70s-90-s cast members should return to keep Corrie's excellent sense of history alive.
Jenny Bradley - Sally Ann NEEDS to return full time - her performance has been top notch and she fitted back in with ease. Dennis Tanner - Should never have been axed Linda Cheveski - Bring her back with Dennis - she arrives with a repentant Dennis to resolve things with Rita. Also one or both of her sons. Debbie Webster (and family) - the always excellent Sue Devaney would be a welcome return - I always loved her spunky 80s teen stint in 1984 Spider Nugent - He revived Emily and could do again. I always liked Spider and think he should return with.... Toyah Nugent - A newly married Toyah returns with her husband to share their surprise wedding with Leanne. Leanne is in need of family Daniel Osborne - Ken's youngest son to bring some more Barlows back - looking to build bridges. Denise Osborne - Would also like some more Denise |

Would welcome Denise Osbourne back with open arms, such a brilliant actress. It'd be good to see lots of family built around Ken, bringing back Daniel and Adam too - Sam Robertson has gone from strength to strength. Maybe even another appearance from Lawrence and James, and James' sister we never met.
I'd love to see the Barlow family actually expanded too, maybe delving into the Leathers side, Ken's mother Ida had two sisters we never met, he could easily have a few cousins knocking about that he's unfamiliar with. |

Totally agree with you VoodooChic!
I think bringing back JennyBradley was a success. Looking forward to the reveal of her life after her last time on the cobbles. Her relationship with Kevin works as well. Dennis Tanner should return and be given better storylines. I think Philip Lowrie was treated shabbily. Also agree that the Barlow clan needs to be boosted. The Tyldesly/Platt family are bursting at the seems over at Platt Mansion! I live in hope that Peter will return long term soon. Voodoochic and Pete Callan are spot on with their observations.

After the debacle that was Dennis Tanner's return, I'd welcome back anyone the writers understand and want to write for. But especially Tricia Hopkins or Suzie Birchall (Gail needs a friend), Curly Watts (he just belongs in Coronation Street), and Spider and Toyah (would fit back in easily, plus family for Emily and Leanne).
I understand people wanting to expand the Barlows but I don't want to see Ken surrounded by strangers. I'd prefer to see more of his friendship with Audrey and he'd be a good friend for Roy as well. |

Surprised Mavis Riley has not been back over the years. They do keep the character 'alive' by having Rita go off and visit her. It's not like she's in Australia, she not even that far away.
I wonder if Thelma Barlow has ever been asked - or maybe she's just not interested. Ditto for Hilda Ogden. I wonder if she's still a housekeeper for Doctor and Mrs. Lowther ... (as she used to call them)

Wouldn't mind seeing Martin Platt back, a mate for Kevin and maybe he could get back with Gail if Les Dennis character croaks it (she is the black widow after all)

I'd love to see Spider & Toyah back, it would be good for Emily & Leanne to have some family around & I can imagine Norris wouldn't be impressed by Spider which would be funny.
I agree also it would be good to have some more Barlow's & it would be interesting to see some of Sally's family as they're supposed to be pretty rough. |

Spider and Toyah would always be top of my list. They were fantastic, lovely characters, and I'd love to know what kind of people they turned into.
eta: I loved goth Craig Harris as well. The stuff with Rosie was good. |

She was their cleaner - but then Mrs Lowther died after the robbery when Hilda was hurt too. Left to be Housekeeper....didn't she say on that Children In Need return that they had married?

I liked Angela Griffin as Fiona, but I think she doesn't seem to stay in any one show for too long

No, he did propose to her but she turned him down because she wanted to stay an Ogden. It was later revealed in a spin-off video where Betty goes to visit Hilda that Dr. Lowther had died and left the house to her.
I don't know how you guys remember all this, but glad you do.

But isn't that the video which first had mention of Elsie's death and isn't regarded as "canon"?

If Anne Kirkbride were still alive and just the character of Deirdre was getting killed off then it would be ok but since Anne Kirkbride has died I think that would be in rather bad taste.
