I've just been trawling through the internet about Doctors history and all the websites I've currently looked at all say Doctors was first transmitted on 26th March 2000 (which was a Sunday). Also something else I have found peculiar, Series 1 lasted for 41 episodes

I was wondering if anybody could help me?

Thank you!

It was really confusing me so I'm glad it has now been confirmed to me. I wonder why they started on a Sunday evening and then changed to weekday afternoons from episode 2?

Probably just a ratings thing for episode one. Like how ITV put the first Thunderbirds on Saturday night the other week before continuing on CITV.

Channel 5 did the same with Family Affairs IIRC, the Sunday being their launch night.
