So in the past year. we've seen both Beale twins leave, Bianca and the Jackson family leave, Kat and Alfie written out for a whole year, Lauren Branning (it hasn't been confirmed when she will be back, if at all), Liam Butcher, and now it's looking about 90% likely Whitney will also be making her exit.

It's also very likely that Dot will be leaving shortly. June Brown is 88 at the end of the day, people. I have a funny feeling they put her in prison for all this time to reduce her screen-time due to old age.

The cast is beginning to shrink rapidly, and feels somewhat empty to me - something needs to be done.

The Butcher house is likely to be empty by the end of the year. Should a brand new family move in? Or should DTC look at bringing back some old, popular faces, to replace the ones we've lost?

We have Kathy returning full-time, which is a fantastic move, but it will take more than her to replace all the big names we've lost.

But we have the Carters who are the MAIN characters the rest are all recurring one that don't matter so who cares if they're all leaving?

Bet DTC inserts Claudette, Donna, Vincent and whatever other children into the Butcher house.

What do you expect when they bring back a mediocre actress like Gillian Taylforth hailing her as the new becoming. It's going to pee off others in the cast.

I don't want more new characters! DTC should start bringing back characters that he know will be popular.

Janine, Zainab, Tanya, Chrissie, Jean and Robbie, please.

In an ideal world, this is what I would do with the cast, to freshen it up a bit and give it a bit more life...

Have Grant return, and have Phil & Sharon's marriage break down, as Sharon realises how she loves Grant more. (They were always a better couple).

Have Grant & Sharon running The Vic. Ronnie & Roxy would also live in The Vic and Peggy would be recurring.

Break Phil down. Stop him from going round in circles all the time. Explore is alcoholism IN DEPTH, and properly explore his relationship with Ben.

The Beale's - Kathy, Ian, Jane, Cindy, Bobby. (They're alright as they are).

Return the Slater's, and give them but storylines - Kat, Alfie, Stacey, Mo, Charlie, Sean, Zoe, Jean.

I'd also give Carol more to do. Have Liam, Robbie & Tiffany. Also, they'd be Whitney & Sonia.

Dot would be paired with Cora. They'd make a brilliant double act! Not sure if I'd axe Charlie or not.

Max is going round in circles. I think a depression storyline would work well with him. Also, have Tanya return. Lauren bores me, but I find Abi interesting, so I'd explore her darker side more.

Mick, Tina, Buster & Shirley for the Carters and have Mick & Buster patch things up, when Buster realises Dean is a rapist and they would run the bookies together.

Denise/Kim/Patrick. The Fox's/Trueman's are fine as they are.

Masood, Shabnam and Zainab for the Masood's, and Tamwar axed.

Kush's mom, Kush & his sister for the Kazemi's.

I'd also have Janine return, and play a big/powerful part in the show.

Sharon's father would move to the Square, with his other daughter. Sharon bonds with them very well, and his other daughter would play a big part in the show.

I know that that includes bringing a lot of characters back, but IMO it's needed. I don't find their new characters interesting enough these days.

Fatboy, Lola, Les, Pam, DVO, Lee, Nancy, etc.. Can all go. IMO, they bring nothing to the show.

If he carries on axing people and giving everything to carters and bringing in big names
I'm going to stop watching. Simple as And I'm sure I won't be alone.

We need co Producers in future to balance out favoritism but im disgusted with dtcs recent behaviour.

Apparently Whitney, lee, Lola, fatboy and Charlie
Have also been axed. So that's next to all the young characters and one under developed one included and another recently ruined. Dtc gets worse by the day. I hope it's not true but something tells me it is.

Exactly this.

I'm fed up with all these new characters.

I get the soap needs new characters, but at least make them interesting and give them big storylines-_-.

I forgot to say, I'd also bring Chrissie back!.

I don't think it's the characters so much but the writers. Storylines recently have been appalling. Who in their right mind would want to watch an old man dying a slow painful death and a dementia sufferer being abused. I find myself switching off more and more and then missing parts of the storyline that I would otherwise possibly enjoy. I know they like to be controversial but these storylines go far beyond that. I think they could have lost many viewers.

Do yourselves a favour Eastenders, bring back the humour, the light hearted gossip, the banter etc and then you might win back some viewers.

I imagine the Lee and Fatboy rumours are false, it has already been confirmed they renewed their contracts.

I definitely think we will see the back of Whitney, Lola and Charlie this year, however. 100%.

The cast could do with a bit of trimming. Still enough talent there, nothing to worry about.
