Babe - a real Dickensian character
I'm really loving scenes with Babe lately. You can just imagine her in a Dickens book. I hope she hangs around for a long time to come

Her accent sounds like something out of a Dickens novel in all. She sounds like an evil baker's wife pulled right out from Victorian times.

I've been waiting for a Babe type character to come into EE for a while.
She's not just a soap bitch - she's hard, cold and manipulative. But she hides it all under her mask of being the family matriarch and keeping everyone happy. I even feel twinges of sorrow for her sometimes. A very well rounded character |

Agree with all your comments.. You never know what might come when Babe is on screen.. Love that we get to see both sides and how she plays it... Pure evil..

I really love her - such an evil, twisted character but also a tragic figure so I can feel sympathy for her as well. She's probably the most interesting character DTC has created in his stint as Exec producer.

Amazing character, by far DTC's best work.

What is her real character name meant to be? Who the hell is called Babe? Is it short for Barbara or something like that?

She is indeed a Dickensian character- evil, twisted and desperately lonely hiding behind her Babe mobile and trifles. You gotta love the Babe. |

DTC did say that Annette and Timothy would bring a touch of Dickens to EE but I never expected cuddly Aunt Babe to be evil.

Annette is such a fantactic actress. Babe is an absolute gift of a character. She's so sinister and I love it

I love her too. It's a shame that Stan has gone now but Babe really is a work of genius and wouldn't be out of place in a Dickens novel.

I wonder if Mick would feel sorry for her when he finds out what she's really like.

The scenes with Sylvie really showed how well messed up both of them are and it proved that Stan was right about Babe in general and I thought he was being way too harsh to her before he died but he was right about her.
I do wonder if Sylvie can be "redeemed" but I doubt it. It looks like both of them are well messed up in different ways. I would still like Sylvie to be given more scenes and engagement with her family. I think its well needed and maybe they should keep Babe in too. |

I want to know what exactly happened to Babe to make her so twisted. It could be down to being ignored by her mother and always in Sylvie's shadow of course but I wonder if there'll be more to it.
