Take a look at Declan Bennett (@thisainttherapy): https://twitter.com/thisainttherapy?s=09

I have to be honest I'm NOT 100% sure on this-say 92% sure but I seem to recall Declan having a reference to starring in EastEnders /working for the BBC on his twitter profile. I've a memory I think of reading "currently appearing in bbc EasteEnders.

It's not there now and he has a new album out also.

Either I've rembered it wrong or Charlie Cotton is leaving the show. Can anyone else recall /help please?

Why is DTC axing his OWN characters?:/.

Tbh, Charlie has become awful to watch.

Whitney & Liam both deserve to stay.

Well that's just great. Charlie/Ronnie looked like a long term pairing and were really good together. But no, we couldn't even get one day of their married life. Why bring Charlie in and give him some long mysterious hello, build up his relationship with Ronnie, have the Nick/Dot/Yvonne stuff, make him an interesting character only to throw him away five minutes later.

DTC has gone down in my estimations.

...and where has it been said that Charlie has been AXED, if he is going?

Same for Shona McGarty. We're not all seriously taking that Daily Star article as gospel now, are we...

The Daily Star the majority of the time is fairly reliable on soap stories as they have great soap correspondent.

The key phrase being "the majority of the time".

In this case they got their wires crossed, especially as a spokesperson since denied everything in that piece.

In fairness to DTC, that's an article from 18 months ago. If she is being axed, it's not like he did a u-turn on his promise straight away.

If she is leaving, it may be possible that she's leaving of her own accord due to being underused in the same way that Sam Strike did. I know Whitney's been on the show for years but when a lot of people that you work closely with start to move on in any line of work, you do start to think about your own future in that job and weigh up your options. Maybe Shona doesn't see much happening with her character and wants to move on to something new?

I liked Charlie! Next up it will be Linda Henry, Diane Parish and/or Lindsey Coulson leaving - the three best actresses on the show (imo).

I can't remember what he had on his bio, can't say for sure he had mentions of EE and BBC. I do seem to remember he had stuff in different sized letters that spelled COTTON if that makes sense?

I would be surprised if he was axed. If he has changed his bio and Is leaving it could be that his contract has run out an he has chosen to leave.

Since when does an actor need to reference the BBC on their Twitter. Yes, they might be going, but until an announcement is made, I'm going to assume otherwise.

This is mere speculation.

Yes it's speculation, by all means feel free not to assume and most do reference the bbc until their leaving and then often change it.Similar thing happened with Chucky Venn,Khali Best, Meryl Fernandes, Matt Lapinskas etc they removed the bbc from their twitter or joined twitter without bbc reference and then shortly after an exit was announced.
That is a pattern and no wildly unreasonable possible inference has been made.

I love that we're assuming that they've not only left the show but have also actually been axed based on nothing.

There's no were on this thread there's a divergence of views.

It's not based on nothing and I'm pretty sure you've indulged in your own fair share of similar speculative posts during your time on here.
