C5 says Big Brother Timebomb will be "upbeat" - hope so, we need a fun series! More info on the new theme here: http://www.bbspy.co.uk/bb16/news/042...-clock-ticking … #bbuk

Hope they keep to this! We need some fun after the dreadful BB15 and the dramatic/drama packed CBB14/15

I doubt they will, they won;t be able to help themselves in terms of stirring a hornet's nest as it's apparently 'boring' when they all get along

This worries me. They shouldn't be able to predict in advance if it's going to be upbeat. The whole point of Big Brother is that you won't know until they all go in there. Sounds like more manipulation to me.

hopefully they will not give anyone immunity to the final this year which completely ruined last year and took away "you decide" because - no we didn't

Not all of us do, some of us find the arguments draining

If it's wall to wall arguments every day like last year, god help the regular series

The only thing that has really stopped recent series appearing upbeat..is the miserable editing team who focus almost wholly on the negative. Plenty of fun stuff that we see in youtube clips that never makes the show.

It doesn't take manipulation to make it upbeat..it takes a more balanced edit.

the tasks, secret missions and twists promise to have tension, drama and intrigue.
Sounds like same old to me.

Not every single night we don't. Last year was beyond draining to watch with no let up. There is a happy medium ... last year certainly wasn't it.

Can anyone remember what they said BB15 would be like before it started? I remember them saying that the house would look futuristic, but what, if anything, did they say about the series? I'm just wondering how closely the series ended up following its promise?

Just read about it on my ipad, and it aint the BB I know, and more scripted than before. Not a good start to a new series.

Big Brother has to be balanced. Too upbeat, it's boring. Too argumentative, it's draining.

Even without the twists last years wouldn't have been upbeat, imo it's mostly down to the HMs. They all took it way to seriously, that on top of the daft twists made the house miserable.

So let's just hope they've got a good set of housemates, obviously not all friendly great people but just something different.

I think they (the producers or whoever is in charge) know they messed up with BB15. The ratings were down from BB14 and there was pretty much no buzz so I am optimistic that they learned from their mistakes.

But then again, this gives me flashbacks of BB8 being advertised as a "summer of fun" We know how that one turned out.

Didn't they have a big questionnaire on the website after last year, to find out what people liked and disliked and how they could improve? Surely the whole point of doing that was because they realised how much people were complaining.

They do that every year, hasn't done any good so far.
I do hope it is more upbeat the odd argument is good to watch but not a full series.

I agree. I enjoy the odd argument, but watching wall to wall bickering is depressing, especially when it is almost scripted.

Do they? I think the questionnaire after the last series is the only one I have ever seen.
