Your Favourite EastEnders Character - 10th Anniversary Edition (Round 6, Semi-Final)
Welcome to the semi-final! Yep, by next weekend we'll be wrapping this thing up! But first, let's recap the latest results -
Round five was all about superfans. Every character was looking to their most dedicated of supporters to get them through this time, and it turned the leaderboard we got from the ranking round completely on it's head. Of course we have a stellar top ten but we couldn't keep them all, and four had to fall this time. Round Five Results 1st // XXXX – 19.3% 2nd // XXXX – 15.5% 3rd // XXXX – 12.1% 4th // XXXX – 11.0% 5th // XXXX – 8.9% 6th // XXXX – 7.4% ----------------------------------- 7th // Denise Fox – 6.6% 8th // Ian Beale – 6.4% 9th // Dot Branning – 5.9% 10th // Grant Mitchell – 5.4% Once again, I'm keeping the exact order of those still in the running quiet to make it a little more unpredictable. But I can assure you, you wouldn't have guessed it at the beginning of the week! So in tenth position, 2006's runner-up, the eternally popular Grant Mitchell. He had his fair share of supporters right to the end but he couldn't match up to the more recent favourites on DS. But he does rank as the most popular of the original Mitchell family, and third best male! In ninth, the character with the best track record in YFEEC history. Our first winner in 2005, she also won the first two all-time series in '05 and '08 as well as placing runner-up both in 2007 and as recent as 2013. It is of course the sublime Dorothy Branning, as iconic as a character could be, it's wonderful to see her even after thirty years and almost ninety years of age in a prime storyline at the heart of the show and clearly still in the hearts and minds of viewers to rank so highly. Up in eighth, the equally iconic Ian Beale, placing as your second favourite male of the last ten years. This is probably Ian's best placing to date actually, after a stunning year for the family and some startlingly good performances from Adam Woodyatt it's positively heart-warming to see fans recognise everything Ian. And finally in seventh, we have 2013 champion Denise Fox. While Denise has always had her fans, it's only in the last few years her popularity really has come into it's own and shown itself on DS. Despite some die-hards giving it a good go at carrying Denise right through to the end, seventh is a hugely respectable placing. More than respectable even. We have our semi-finalists! Five extraordinary women and your favourite male battle it out for just two spots in next week's grand final. Every single one has made it to that all-important top two at least once before with four winners still in the running. Now, think you regulars know how the semi-final works? Think again. Out with the routine, in with something new. We all know different voting methods get different results, and this time rather than pick between them I thought why not do both? So that's what we're doing. While you will simply be asked to rank your top six, I will also be taking votes of your top two and applying them to a separate leaderboard. The two totals will then be combined to give an overall score from which I'll get the results, and only the top two will make the final. Round Six Stacey Branning Janine Butcher Pat Evans Ronnie Mitchell Sharon Mitchell David Wicks This time I need you to RANK your top six. But choose carefully, your top two will count for extra and your lowest ranked will receive no points at all! Voting will close Sunday 3rd May. Come back then for the launch of the grand final! |
