Am I voting to save or evict in Big Brother?
Unless otherwise directed, you will be voting to SAVE a Housemate. In the final, you will be voting for the Housemate you want to WIN.

When do vote lines open and close?
Vote lines are opened at the discretion of the editorial team and may open outside programme times. Notifications may be posted on bigbrother.channel5.com, the Big Brother app, Facebook and/or Twitter to advise that the Vote is open. An announcement will also be made on air. Vote lines will be frozen or closed at the times specified on the programmes. Please do not vote before the Vote has opened or after the Vote has frozen or closed, as your vote will not be counted but you may still be charged. Please be aware voting times may change.

I hope this is true. Although it's possible they've not updated their FAQ, they've updated everything else on the website so I don't see why not.

I imagine it's true, if it's on the website.

Interesting that they're changing it. I suppose it seems that they're listening to the viewers, as a lot of people on here seem to prefer Vote To Save. Personally I prefer Vote To Evict, as I feel that sometimes Vote To Save can result in certain people being overlooked before they've really had a chance to shine, but hey ho.

I just dot think they have been updated since CBB. It says about voting credits 'you have until the end of the January CBB 2015 to use your credits'

But maybe they just forgot to update that bit

They never update those FAQs till the very last minute ! I very much doubt they will use VTS, and probably stick with the pattern of using VTE. I don't mind VTE if there's only ever 2 housemates up. But these days they have loads up every week so it makes no logical sense to use it . then again when have the producers of this show ever used logic ?

I would say the audience is pretty split on it.
I suppose its a good feeling to vote to 'evict' a villain ie someone like Pauline.
But to be honest these sorts of hated character will go regardless whether its VTE or VTS!

Its come the later weeks when the entertainment suddenly gets picked off over the ones who have contributed zilch.

Well, I don't know about other contributors, but I always vote based on my own personal opinion, not on who I have just noticed the most. When it's Vote To Evict, I vote for the person who is genuinely my least favourite out of the selected ones, whether that is a 'big character' or someone we've barely seen. And when it's Vote To Save, I vote for the person I like best, on the same principle. There seems to be a perception that people just ring for whoever they've seen most on their screens, regardless of whether or not they're likeable. Maybe people do, I can't say; it's not how I vote.

Having Vote To Save means that they can bring evicted housemates back in

If they're doing that, what's even the point of evicting them in the first place? You may as well just have sixteen people right to the end, and then a vote for a winner.

I hope not. Another miserable house if we can't shift the showwreckers out.

I'm not really bothered about championing one or the other anymore. If I were to support vote to save then when the next big eviction comes along I'll probably wish it was vote to evict instead and vice versa.
However I wish they'd make up their damn minds.

They should have just stuck to vote to save, or just switched it back to vote to evict and have done with it.

Maybe they should have just stuck to vote to evict and then if they wanted to shake things up and remove some of the deadwood then have a couple of all-up vote to saves at random points throughout the series.
Although vote to save does provide much more unpredictability and keeps the divisive characters in, I have to admit I do miss the huge eviction nights when you could look forward to the eviction as a housemate you dislike was obviously getting booted with a huge percent of the vote.

No, it doesn't.

All there ever was that blocked bringing evicted HMs back in was attached to eviction -- not to the voting method. And that part of the rules was changed either for or during bb7 anyway and (so far as I've been able to tell) was not changed back.

Besides, even before that, evicted HMs could be brought back -- as Jon Tickle was in bb4 -- just without being able to win. (The rule change meant they could also be brought back able to win.)

well im not sure about them being able to put past housemates back in, the only thing i think they would have trouble getting away with is taking the vote out of the publics hands, such as with Marlon and Danielle. Had that series been a 'vote to save', then i am sure they would not have risked doing that as the public may have already spent money saving them in previous weeks (though Marlon would probably had gone alot earlier had that been the case anyway )

i do much prefer the 'positive' voting, mainly because 9 times out of 10 voting to evict is just a weekly witch hunt where 'most' of the time we know exactly who is going.

though as has already been stated, the faq's on the website are still for januarys CBB !

Now confirmed its vote to EVICT.

I know some people love that, but it's not good for the show IMO, especially the way they FAFF about with nominations these days.
However I doubt I will last the full run of this series anyway and prefer CBB
