Has anybody worked out some kind of a hack for putting the channels into a preferred order? This must be the only system I've used which doesn't allow it and it's quite annoying.

If you have the latest software, you can press the blue button to filter the channels into groups, such as 'HD', 'Films', 'Entertainment' and so forth. This software has already rolled out to Humax boxes and is coming soon to Huawei. The same update puts the individual channel logos into the Guide.

The "blue button filter" is available on Huawei boxes and has been for quite a long time, several updates ago.
Not yet got the update which gives you the option of channel logos though

You can't change the order, but you can hide all the channels you never watch or don't pay for. I hide over 200 channels and so my EPG has 40 TV channels and 2 radio stations.

It's a complete faff to do though, each channel hidden takes two button presses & if you accidentally hide a channel you want to watch, your only option is to un-hide all so you have to start again from scratch.

Learnt last week of a workaround to unhide a single channel:

Search for a programme on the channel in question in the Now and Next section and go to record it. It apparently will then ask if you want to unhide that channel (not tried it myself yet).

Yes it works, you don't have to be in any particular menu, just hit the search button on the remote and enter the name of any programme you know is scheduled on the hidden channel you want to restore. When the programme is found it gives you the option to restore just that one hidden channel.

I wish I'd known that about an hour earlier

I never use the filters, which I don't trust anyway. For instance, I always like to have the two regional BBC stations I can get next to BBC1 HD, so that I can switch over as soon as the local news comes on. I also like to group the 20 or so channels that I watch the most in a group, to save all the tedious scrolling in looking for them. I think I've hidden all but about 50 channels in total, but I think that 10 or them cover more than 90 per cent of my viewing. I hardly ever watch ITV at all, but keep ITV3 and ITV4 because of the very rare occasions when they have a film worth watching on an otherwise poor night.

THANK YOU! Sorry to shout, but you both saved me hours of grief.
